IOTA doesn't work BTW

thanks, cody

I got it working last night. I reflashed to the new Sprint ROM, verified I had internet by opening internet explorer. Then reflashed to the Colonel's ROM. The only thing I did different this time is I didn't install any of the extras that you have the option to install after the initial flash.

I did notice however, only the standard ring tones work. The WMA files are corrupted, and the mp3s will load, but not save when applied to a notification. (i.e. Baba O applied to incoming call, did not save and defaulted to the previous ring tone, however setting it to OldPhone worked fine.).

i did find this post in a search... http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...light=internet

the only problem is i dont know my user name and password. looks like i may need to flash back a stock rom, write it down, and then flash back. what a pain though.

If you're a sprint customer, you can find your username and set the password via their web site. This happened to me where IOTA wasn't working, however, and it wasn't the username that mattered but rather the ESN number. What I did, in short, was ##PST# to enter the EPST app, selecting Edit mode (you'll need to know your "code" to get in). Once there, I selected M.IP Default Profile and the NAI was all zeroes. I set that to the phone ESN, then quit saving the settings. As I recall, the app forces a reboot. At any rate, then IOTA worked which, in short order, had the rest of it working correctly. In fact, it's never been faster. I have no idea why this happened but you can flash different roms all day and it won't restore that info.

This happens if the extended rom is displayed. If you hide it the problem should go away.

There is also a FilterFS directory that will cause this problem. Only way I fouind to fix it was to delete the regkey HKLM\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\FilterFSD and reboot.
