Re: WM 6.5 - 23017B (08-Aug-2009)/23025A (11-Aug-2009)

!whiskey btonetbone

Anyway, I was skimming through this thread and thought I would mention a thing or two. First off, good work btone, been keeping up on these ROMs more than I have.

Secondly, as to the discussion concerning "Clear Storage" for the Titan/Mogul....yes it exists, no I would not recommend using it. I am on VZW and that is one of the excuses that gets used when I flash a Radio and need to call in for an A-key. Verizon Tech 3's have mentioned that the Clear Storage function was one of the apps they could not lock out from the end user, but it has been known to cause issues such as clearing everything...contacts, texts, a-key....basically clearing enough to say it's a new out of the box device that has yet to be programmed for any carrier....all in all, a nightmare. So yes, it was available on a stock ROM. Yes, Clear Storage is available as an OEM to be grilled into a ROM. No, I would not include it in any of my ROMs, recommend and other chef to grill it in theirs, nor would I advise anyone to use Clear Storage on the Titan even if it is available on what ever ROM they flash. This is my opinion based on the information I have gathered over time.

Third, I would like to thank all of the users and testers that are taking their free time to test or run the ROMs that are available. By doing this, you folks are helping to advance the Windows Mobile Community and the quality of the ROMs and Applications available. As I am sure btone has mentioned, reporting bugs is encouraged. This is how we as developers increase the quality of the work we provide to everyone else. And some of these bugs (like the ones I am working on for M2D and some enhancements for 6.5) teach us many new skills that we were not even aware we needed to know.

We do this because we like the challenge of getting the absolute most out of our devices, and we want the end users to enjoy their devices. But everyone uses them differently, including us, this is why it is important to report any errors/bugs you come across, even if you fixed it....report the bug and the fix so we can correct it for everyone else, if you see someone that has reported a bug without a fix, and you know the fix or a potential fix...post up! We all learn from each other and we were all n00bs at some point in time. We can only continue to advance our knowledge base if we continue to learn, knowledge has to be shared to continue to learn

Okay, I am done taking up space on btone's thread...but keep up the good work everyone!
"May the Force be with you!"

You can set up hotmail just like any of the other email accounts using the pop settings.
When you go to create the email account, set it up like "username@hotmail.com" just don't use the hotmail.com at end so it will not redirect you to IE. Use something like username@hot.com
After you get it all set up then go back in and edit the account and change it to hotmail.com.
You are tricking it into doing this.

Re: WM 6.5 - 23017B (08-Aug-2009)/23025A (11-Aug-2009)

Configuration Settings:
Incoming Server = pop3.live.com
-Port 995
-Encryption/Authentication = SSL is required
-Full Username = username@xxxx.com (same as full email address, where xxxx.com = live.com, msn.com or hotmail.com )
-Password is required
-SPA(secure password authorization) = Off(uncheck this option)
Outgoing Server = smtp.live.com
-Port 25 or 587 [Note: Preferred Outgoing is Port 587 instead of Port 25 since many ISP’s blocks Port 25 use. Similar blocking can occur when using Port 25 in hotels or accessing via a WiFi network]
-Outgoing Server Authentication = On(check the option)

-Encryption/Authentication = SSL or TLS
* Choose SSL for Windows Live Mail, Outlook 2003, iPhone, iPod Touch, Outlook Express and Vista's Windows Mail * Choose TLS for Outlook 2007 (required)
-Full Username = username@xxxx.com (same as full email address)
- unless outgoing server is configured to use same incoming server option
-Password is required
- unless outgoing server is configured to use same incoming server option

just in case any one needs the setting (and do as mattsm sugest on top until it prompts you to manualy incert the pop 3 settings and the ones that dont apply like the port setting just skip)

I am not speaking for btonetbone, but he has been very busy in conferences. He did stop in IRC a couple of days ago and said he had no free time until this saturday. He is missed though.
