Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
Thanks Mattsm for all your work ...
For those interested I have been using 23024 for a day now and I must say I like where the builds are going. I can see what they are trying to do and I am using my stylus and keyboard much less. But (you know there had to be one), after using it for a day, you are going to need some patience with this build. Here are some of the gotchas 1) Anything that scrolls won't automatically scroll down (i.e. you arrow down on entry fields and what you are on won't be visible, you must use the scroll bar to ge to it) 2) The Start Menu (after scrolling down) will not scroll all the way up to the top (half of the first row is cut off) 3) The text is awkward in entry boxes - the text boxes and drop downs are 3 times the normal size but the text size is the same - lots of wasted space (hopefully they will enlarge and change the default font type), BTW chaning the text size to large has no effect 4) The new buttons at the bottom are good size and respond but not sure why some are not justified to right or centered 5) The title menu sometimes becomes twice the size and is duplicated below the normal one 6) The bottom bar keyboard button list doesn't always go away and gets stuck on 7) and there is more ... Even with all this aggravation I really like were they are going. If anyone from MS Mobile team is reading this I would suggest moving the title bar items into this new bottom bar. Use icons instead of words for the bottom bar and make the buttons a consistent size. This will give the same real estate back plus having easier finger operations of both the traditional title bar and soft key bar items. |

i've had this issue in the last 2 builds also. even with my carrier cab installed, it still does this. does this happen to everyone? this message comes up everytime i hit the net. deleted "sprint" in the connection settings but this iota thing still pops up. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
This IOTA issue that some are having. I am not sure, I have never had this problem. I have talked to someone in Force Developments(AstainHellbring) who is a sprint user as well. He said I was lucky cuz his used to do it too. What he did to fix this was flash back to stock rom and run the IOTA and just play around on the net for a bit. Then flash back. His issue was solved.
Now something you need to know is that some stock roms contain an spl. So after flashing back to stock, double check you bootloader to verify spl. You may need to run one of the unlockers to flash back to the custom roms. Other than this I am not sure, cuz I have not had this problem. Just a thought of mine on this: If one of the previous roms did not have this problem. You can try and reflash back to one of them and run the IOTA and play on net a bit. Then flash back. I am just giving suggestions at this point. If anyone else has some insight on this, then do tell. Thanx. Hope this works for you guys, and if not we will do some more research. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
Everytime you access the internet or when a program access the internet there is a pop up.
To disable this popup do this. start/settings/sounds and notifications under the notifications tab Event dropdown select connection established uncheck display message on screen click ok |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
I had this problem when I first started using custom roms, and I had not used the internet before I had flashed. So I flashed back to stock rom and was able to connect to the internet, reflashed to one of your custom roms and it has worked fine ever since.

Any one else see a change in the buttons at the bottom of the screen for IE? It seems the back arrow has been switched with the close button.

Noticed that right away.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
Just reporting in on some of these builds. I have been flashing all of these new build numbers that have been coming. Speed and stability are fine. The main issue that I do not like about it is the new look with the screen size of this Titan. To be honest I hate it.
If one wants to continue looking at the builds I can post the newest one up tonite. 23403 build. But it will not be one of my rom releases. Just let me know. The good note is that this has giving me time to search for tweaks and add them to my provxml. So this weekend I will work on another 23017 build(which is what I run on personal phone) and it has been very stable. I have also been looking at the TP2 stuff pretty hard. I will be getting mine as soon as sprint releases. But I will not abandon working with the titan at that time. I know that there will be still users of this phone. And I will still own 3 of them. So post up your suggestions on making the 23017 build better for now, and I will work on this in the mean time. Hope everyone is doing well!!!! |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
I noticed that when running 23017, that the abillity to reply to a post on PPCGeeks (or XDA), is dissabled.
I will try running the ROM that you use (23017_MY), and see if the same thing happens. Other than that one little issue, this a rock solid ROM. I have been running 23017 since you first uploaded it, and it has been very stable and good on battery use. Keep up the great work. EDIT: I guess I was talking about trying 23009_MY. Flashing now. EDIT 2: The "ZOOM Browser" (HTML) must be used to access editing functions. This is with 23017 or 23009. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
Here is the latest build number
Sprint 23034 This is posted for you flashing addicts. Actually it is starting to look alittle better. The start menu icon is on the bottom bar. The top bar is smaller now as well. I have removed the task manager because of top bar conflict. I am using the vc button to open the task manager under the start menu(you will need to map it). The dialer is stock on this one. I am not releasing this as one of my normal builds, but it is stable and quick. And I am going to run it on my phone this weekend for further testing. The first post still has 23017. Also if there was a favorite build number I still have all the builds uploaded. Back to working on some things. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
Thanks for updating to 23034. I like to flash with the latest.
Here is the only item I found weird with this build (I hard reset already): 1. Storage card no longer being recognized I love this cooked ROM except for a couple of minor items (my personal preferences) 1. I am not a fan of iContact and actually prefer the stock 6.5 contact program (having trouble reverting back on your ROM) 2. If you get a chance I personally like the look of Shady313 skin of WM6.5 over at XDA -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546805. If you could integrate this I would personally remove the memory and the battery bar at the top. Otherwise it is a rocking build of the new "fat" bottom bar 6.5. Thanks again Mattsm. |

Second 1. I will remove the icontacts and go with stock since this can be added in via cab. No Prob. 2. I will look at this when I get all set back up. Thanks for your comments. |

2. (this is the tricky bit) a transparent bar will drop down, about 1/2 to 3/4 over from the left press your finger on the what looks like "empty space", it will either bring up the volume or network settings. You will have to play with it to get it to come up. Imagine icons that are large lined up that are transparent on a transparent background. <kidding>Maybe this is a new clean UI element for WM7</kidding> |

M2D build, built buy Justpctech over at ppckitchen. Posting this for the M2D folks that want to look at it some more. http://www.ppckitchen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=899
And tomorrow I will be releasing an updated 23017 build, cuz I am finished setting up my new systems. Finally. Thanks devsolution on your response to deddy777, that was right on. |

The TP2 will be my next phone as well. Have you heard news on when it will be out. I know T-Mobile has one out or close to it, and Verizon will be putting one out as well. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
Sprints release date is sept. 8 and I am not sure about the verizon.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
I have installed the 23017 sprint version and the rom really works well. Everything seems to be very smooth. I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of the connection bubble every time I connect to the internet. I tried advanced config but could not find an option in there for it. I imagine there might be a registry change to stop the notification but I don't know where to find it. Again great rom...any help getting rid of the connection notification bubble would be awsome.

No prob. I don't mind helping. I know there are alot of threads here. I am not like some who just say search. If I know where it is I generally post it.
Thanks for your comments. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
Matt, I just wanted to give you a quick thank you for keeping the larger icons. It makes a huge difference for these old eyes.
Oh, just thought of something. there used to be a program to reboot the phone by just hitting reboot instead of having to get out the stylus and hit the reset thing. Is there a cab file for this program any where? (maybe I am missing it ? ) |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
There is a program in the start menu that is called psShutXP. It is included in these roms.

Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
Sorry that I have not posted a 23037 build yet. I have been busy trying to get my water well up and going these last few days. But I promise I will upload tonite. Now back to outside in this heat and get this thing fixed.
There are quite a few build numbers out. Me personally the 23037 direction is the way I am going. It is starting to look better. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017
Sprint 23037
Here is 23037. There are a few differences in this build. I have removed Icontacts and the jdume dialer. Can be installed via cab. I have also added a couple of titanium plugins. ATfave people notification all in one chome editor added I have vc button mapped to task manager in startmenu. Forgot to add in so you will have to map. Top bar zoom menu has been fixed as well I will be running this build and looking at tweaking even further. enjoy and lets see what we can do with these new builds going this direction. |

Just a note on the 23037 build. I included chome editor so that you can disable the panels you don't want. If you notice I included the all in one notification, so you can either keep it and disable the original notifications or keep the original and disable the all in one.
Please report anything we need to add. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017 or 23037
Hey there Mr Matt.
After a long needed week of vacation, I have returned. Just installed 23037. I'd held off from updating to it, until the word was that it was usable for "production". Crossing my fingers on it! Any word on the memory leaks from previous builds? Has the memory leak gone away? |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017 or 23037

Ya, the memory is ok. I am going to work on some things with this build number. I can get even more use to it, like we all did when we first started to use titanium. When it first came out I was not liking it but it did grow on me. The good thing is we are never satisfied with what we have. So we will keep on tweaking. Beside that we are always learning as we go. I am going to build a version B of this build tonite with the jdume dialer and some more titanium plugins, and maybe a surprise if I can get it to work. See what I mean, we are never satisfied. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017 or 23037
Sprint 23037b
Been too long of a day to do what I wanted. But here is a b version. It has the jdume dialer and Icontacts. There is also added office plugin and titanium weather that has gps radar instead of the radar that came with it. Get your radar according to your gps location. One of the users of my rom told me about the gps radar and don't know who it was that found it. So let me know who you were and I will credit you here. |
Re: Mattsm 6.5 23017 or 23037
Thank you for your work on these builds. I do like this latest one 23037.
I noticed that I can't seem to get to the options for SIPs. For example, after installing SPB Keyboard, I can't get to the options screen to register it. I've tried getting to it from Settings:Input, select Spb Keyboard in the drop down and then clicking on Options... button. Nothing happens. I've even tried getting at the SPB Keyboard options from the full screen layout...pressing menu and selecting options...nothing happens here either. The Options... button seems to work fine with Finger Keyboard though. Has anyone else seen this? |
