Re: Official WinMo 6.5 RC1 is out!

First let me say... awesome job with putting this stuff out there. I commend you all.

However, with that said (to provide proper credit), I couldn't get 6.5 off my phone fast enough. What an ugly kludge. Uhg.

Back to 6.1 - hyper customized and happy as a clam.

It looks like the entire xda site is down. Try it again in an hour or two, or perhaps tomorrow.

Oh, it's cool looking, if you turn off the Windows Today screen and go back to the old HTC themes.

But it's soooooo slow, and buggy. Well, maybe after a few more releases.

Thumbs up Re: Official WinMo 6.5 RC1 is out!

Thank you so much for this contribution as I tried the newest official but dropped back to Tplane37 198 1.2. This looks like a good fit for that build. You

That link definitely filled in some of the missing elements that the new titanium was missing.(cpr files are to big to edit with total commander so have to copy to pc and edit)(but definitly customizable even further) Like thvoicwethin said "too perfect"

AS far as backing up. If you look in my signature I am still running 21198 by Tplane37. Fantastic work.
Although I am liking my cooked one in the kitchen, but it does not compare to Tplanes.

If people don't know the 21501 official is just a bare bones release. But Tplane's others are not.

Re: Official WinMo 6.5 RC1 is out!

Please don't flame or flash me for this question...... (scared :/)
What is titanium?? and not a silly answer like a rare metal! I am confused about what exactly what titanium is in reference to this thread. I am thinking it is the alias to WM 6.5?? but I see a skin for it on the kitchen called titanium. If someone could enlighten me That would make me understanding to this term. I have installed 6.5 on my verizon xv6800 and I like it. I am having problems with it though as it is slightly glitchy. I use the devicelock 1.1 offered on the kitchen rom maker, Not the SUS2 or the other one, and I really like the interface, but when the phone rings, the original screen comes up then it flips to the locked screen and is real glitchy, doesn't show picture or know the phone number tag and the ring stops for a moment then it will ring 1 or 2 more times before it goes to voicemail. I am also having trouble with the comm manager, the button can't find the correct link, it will work at first through tthe first couple of boots then stops working one day and never works again until I reflash. The HTC mem manager (the one from HTC) does not work, (either one in the kitchen) and the others offered in that category do weird things and dont work correctly either and Qick Manager (I think thats what its called) brings the start menu back and really messes up the 6.5 touch interface. When installing the kitchen rom, at first, I loaded the programs I usually use (I stayed away from any today plugins as i thought they wouldn't work correctly, 6.5 seems to be one big plug-in), None of the programs I used in 6.1 will not work well with 6.5 and after various flashes, my kitchen choices were/are virtually non-existant. I am happy with a slim version as 6.5 is all I need and really like the simplicity. I need No-data, sprite, and a good gps engager, i am using hollux because none of the plugins will work with 6.5 today screen. Is there anything that can help me make 6.5 a little more stable? I was nervous to install No2chem's or the other guy's (sorry ) system tweaks as I feel those were written for 6.1 and 6.0. Other then that, I love it! I have also returned my xv6800 for a new one as the screen and wifi were starting to make my phone run real glitchy, when it heated up, i couldn't make calls for about a half hour or so after I let it cool down. Verizon sent me a refurb that came with the 2.40 olipro bootloader already installed, the wifi on that didn't work at all and the phone would jump to the bootloader screen when I tried to sync my address and contacts #'s, etc.., Lets just say it was really screwed up. I called verizon again and told them of the problem and they told me that it's not possible to have a modded bootloader on those phones and she told me I wasn't supposed to use the wifi G network as I am supposed to use Verizons service and that is why my first phone broke. They blamed it on me then she told me she was doing me a favor and sent me another xv6800. This one is brand new! still has the void sticker on the screw, but as I fire it up and see if everything works, the os runs really really SLOW! I reinstalled the origional software via hard reset a couple of times and it still wont run as fast as my first one. I can't believe these phones are as junky as this!? Is it me or do these phones have alot of problems? I had inquired about getting into a better phone because of the problems on the first two and verizon girl told me I would have to pay full price and I cant early upgrade until FEB 2010. My year is up in June 2009. I was pereplxed and said that I cant pay $400 more for a new phone as I just payed $300 for this one. I said what can I do? she said these phones should only last for a couple of years anyway and I need to wait until I can upgrade into a new contract. So, I need some help with this issue as well. If anybody can give me some pointers on getting into a touch pro without having to pay for another phone and contract I would appreciate that. I can't be stuck into using a phone that doesn't work for what it is supposed to work for. I hope somebody agrees with me. I am tired of fighting with Verizon and they are a monopoly in our small town area. One final question I have is, can I use the 6.5 software on a phone without messing with the bootloader or radio installed. I have a standalone GPS anyhow and it works much better then my cell (thats my opinion). I would like to update the OS and use the kitchen software with being able to revert the phone back to the original software incase I need to return it. Like I said, I really don't have to have GPS on my phone, it's just used for bragging rights for me. let me know?

OH! and thanx to this community and all of its developers! You really ROCK for helping us become minerature cell phone programmers! THe time invested is definetly great as we as the support, that cant be easy as it is ALL time consuming! Thank You

Whoa....WOW....i mean....W.O.W. This whole post needs to be in about 4 different sections of the forum, seriously. The winmo 6 and winmo 6.5 are typically the same when it comes to programs. It shouldn't affect anything, I'm using software from winmo 5 and it still works. Verizon thing should really be in carrier dicussion forum. The touch pro question should be in the Touch Pro section. The GPS should be in the GPS thread for titan. The kitchen and winmo 6.5 (including titanium....if you want to call it that since every 6.5 instance comes with titanium unless its manually removed) should be in the software section under the windows mobile 6.5 for QVGA and VGA thread. Please foreward all accordingly. It's surely confusing to a lot of us here. I'd have to read this thing 3 times over to completely understand your logic behind whats really going on.

Not trying to be mean, but search around the forum for specific problems..Let me Sparknotes this for you, in case you really don't want to read all of the stuff i just posted:

1. verizon carrier problems go in carrier specific thread. Call verizon, b**** them out until they give you what you want. They'll eventually give in.
2. WinMo 6.5 and Titanium should go to Software forum under winmo 6.5 for qvga and vga
3. GPS should go to GPS section for titans
4. USE THE ENTER KEY EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE!!!
5. These phones aren't junky if you use them correctly. REFURB is a REFURB for a reason

That is all. Now back to trying to get Android to work in winmo 6.5
