Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

Hi. I built a ROM -- or thought I did, but there is no xip listed in the build status and I am pretty sure I read on this thread that this would mean an automat hang. I will attach my selections.txt and the build status file, could someone let me know if it looks OK before I go onwards?

Thanks.

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

I'm running version 21501 of wm6.5 and it eats through my battery, I'm beginning to like 6.5 for easy thumb use but the battery does not last long enough. What can I do to help this? Also is their a 6.1 version or another 6.5 version that uses batteries better?

Found some helpful reg edits that might help http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...battery+tweaks

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

Seems like 21501 is memory leaky. Using the Titanium (without the Titanium weather)
I thought dumping M2d would increase the MEM but after a day's normal use (iContacts, Ereader, No su2, no bells, whistles, or much else) I routinely erode to 3MB & need to soft-reset. I use Oxios to mop up over the course of a day.

So where do I find access to the Ext Rom?
What the hell is the hardware switch doin for me?

And my "bug" report is: I put "p#nnnn" after my phone number on the voicemail textbox.
It sticks for a day or 2 then it disappears.
Even when its present the additional keystrokes won't fire.
I have a "Messages" contact that I trigger via voice in which this works, its just the "voicemail" from the Today screen that won't fire.

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

I really like the new graphical additions in wm6.5, however I have found some issues.

Aside from phone use my Titan is my MP3 player with a 16g card and roughly 10g of music that I stream via bluetooth. With wm6.5 I have to run with camera disabled in order to guarantee enough memory for WMplayer or AudioManager to run. In wm6.1 both media players were stable and I could listen to music uninterrupted for hours with camera enabled. In wm6.5 WMplayer is almost unusable and AudioManager is somewhat usable, both apps will close by themselves after X period of time. I assume wm6.5 does this when memory becomes critical. With wm6.5 and Camera enabled I get roughly 6-10 songs before close, with Camera disabled I may get 30-40 songs.

I have been building roms and testing others wm6.5 roms for nearly two weeks and have not found a solution to the memory problems.

In normal operation not media player and camera enabled it is fairly quick and stable for a time but I must run Qxios prior to running any app or it will possibly freeze. If I watch memory stats with no apps running it will slowly get used up until to Titan is unusable.

When surfing the net on the phone with either Iexplore or Opera9 I must use the on-screen keyboard as the slide out keyboard does not function with these apps for some reason.

The slide out keyboard is quirky to say the least. Both Function and Shift buttons are intermittent at best. When typing letters don't always show up and sometimes I get multiples.

When using either MagicButton or WKtask pressing the X button when on the Start menu will cause Start to no longer function. With MagicButton you can set the x button to minimize the Start Menu correcting the problem, but not with WKtask.

As for Sprint Picture Mail. If I need to take a pic to send I first have to reboot in camera mode, take the picture, reboot in no cam mode so that SprintPM has enough memory to run and then send.

All in all I am happy with the enhancements and alot of the problems with 6.1 have been addressed but I am really unhappy with memory issues.

Thanks to everyone for the hard work,
Fz

Re: WM6.5 build 21501 kitchen

I have a 6800 with the GPS upgrade. I just heard that if I flash the rom since the gps has been enabled, I have a very high chance of bricking my phone?!? Anybody else heard this or experienced this?
