Re: Samsung Omnia 3D Drivers

It could just be me but s2u2 seems to happily use directdraw with this installed, and it's a lot faster drawing itself.

Re: Samsung Omnia 3D Drivers

Killer find!!!

I can finally play Skyforce again happily

You sir, were promptly thanked. I'm surprised this hasn't made more headlines. I just posted a thread about it in the Mogul section over @ XDA, hopefully the word will get out.

Re: Samsung Omnia 3D Drivers

Yes I did. I've even un-intstalled it and re-installed it and it still trips like that. I also don't know how I can test if this does anything on my device. Honestly, nothing has changed for me.

Re: Samsung Omnia 3D Drivers

For those experiencing speedups with portrait/landscape, I'm betting it's because of the required reset. Far as I know, all those functions just use the standard GAPI or similar. This driver, as nice as it is, is only intended to work with things running D3D mobile. There's a very nice article on this on the MSDN website explaining the difference between GAPI, GDI, DirectDraw, and D3DM:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa454886.aspx
So any UI speedup is purely placebo.

Re: Samsung Omnia 3D Drivers

I found this site that offers a few 3D games... I'll also be posting this in the Games sub-forum, but wanted you to see it here as well since it's relevant. some of them look worth checking out, and I'd never seen/heard of them elsewhere...

Re: Samsung Omnia 3D Drivers

That site seems to offer java games though... I don't think Jbed supports 3D at all, much less through D3DM?
