Purpose of the STICKIES

Finally I don't feel like I am just a trouble maker for posting this. Thank you GGuruUSA for your comments. If anyone around here has clout it is you. I have received more help from your post than anyone else on these forums. Puff your another that is another long time user here. I wondered if I were the only one that had been here for a little while who felt things were worse with the current system.

Since stickies show on every page, I can see the no stickies rule making some sense...but it's very b00n unfriendly now.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the whole point of having the ability to make stickys is to make threads that are "read this first" type threads, the trick is balance though too many stickys actually clogs the forum and defeats the point... However, it looks like mods are working on this, just noticed this thread that links to a lot of the old stickys... Consolidation can be good, but just suddenly wiping all stickys wasn't good... perhaps we should just be stricter on sticky material, like for example, i refer back to gguru's post

Good point. I think someone else made a good point when they suggested the sticies be on the first page only.

Fixing that is definitely a better solution, but if they don't want to change that for some reason the multiple subforums w/ stickies is next best thing. The current approach (stickied thread with links) isn't maintainable.
