Re: Using Mogul as Modem

I was fairly certain that the version I posted was .91. I could be wrong, but I'd guess that the "About" section simply wasn't updated between .89 and .91. Either way, if it is working well for you then I wouldn't worry about it. I have a license for the new, commercial version, and honestly I still use this version a lot. It is lighter, and initializes faster than the new versions. I've been using ICSControl a lot more these days as well. WMWiFiRouter v1.2 sounds promising though, so I'm gonna give that a shot whenever the public beta starts.

Can you give me an idea on what the settings should look like for ICS control I also have that installed but it looks intimidating with all those settings, maybe you can point me in the right direction of what to change the settings to. thanks again for the cab it was quick and painless.

Re: Using Mogul as Modem

It is really only as complicated as you want to make it. Your "Public Interface" is, as the name suggests, simply going to be your connection to the outside world. Typically this will be your cellular line (unless your trying to do something fancy, like using your phone as a USB WiFi card for your non-WiFi enabled PC). Your "Private Interface" is how you are going to share your connection locally. To achieve the same functionality as WMWiFiRouter, you will need to choose your WLAN card (TNETW12511 on the Mogul) as your private interface. Then I just set my private IP as the conventional 192.168.0.1 (not totally necessary, but it keeps things simple) and hit "Start ICS."

*Note - before starting ICS, you will need to have an adhoc WiFi network already set up. Then go into your WiFi control panel and select Computer-to-Computer connections only.

Re: Using Mogul as Modem

I'm not sure if there is a tutorial anywhere or not, but you could try the thread at XDA where the developer posted this program. I don't have a link handy, but it should be easy to find if you search ICSControl over there.

The beauty of this program is that you can share connections any way you please (although I believe this kind of ability is supposed to be introduced in WMWifiRouter v1.2 as well). For the example of using your Mogul as a USB Wifi card, you would just set TNETW12511 as your Public Interface and RNDISFN1 (that's your USB connection) as your Private Interface.
