Re: Difference between the 7/21 3.56 ROM and "earlier" 3.56 ROM

According to other people, the two files have the same hash (I'm supposing MD5.) The files therefore are bitwise identical. (The possibility of a hash collision is extremely remote for a smallish filesize as this ROM update.)

How can there be a 1mb size difference while maintaining the same hash?

Ok I figured it out.

HTC Task Manager 2.0 caused most of the freezing clashes I had, once I turned it off my probems with the rom & UI apps, went away...
No more "freezes from hell"...

Was it just me...?

Oh & I'm uber pissed that WOW SRS doesn't work with this ROM, other than that
not much to see.
I do like the threaded SMS...

Re: Difference between the 7/21 3.56 ROM and "earlier" 3.56 ROM

I have actually noticed some improvements.
As others have reported, it is a bit snappier.
HTC Home plugin is working for me - I followed the link in the stickied post in upgrades to get it working.
SPB Mobile Shell 2.1 works fine
Battery is much better. Phone has been on since last night (approx 12 hrs by now) and is at 80%.
SPB Mobile shell allows you to adjust the brightness.
I HAVE GPS! No need to use mu Holux puck anymore. Will use with my UMPC though.
Did not lose my contacts. All synced right over after upgrade was done.
I love thredded texting. Had a conversation going with my wife in one thread and my GF in the other.....oops...did I say that?!?!
iGuidance 4.0 works great with built in GPS. Took a bit at first to pick up a good signal but has now locked on inside my house. Still wants to connect for data every now nad then so I'll have to look into that.

I'm going to add back one program per day just to rule out any problems if I develop any.

David

Here is what is causing the confusion... These file sizes "are" different.

RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.56.651.0_RS_3.42.02_SPCS2.0 4_PPST_0619_Ship.exe 64.4 MB (67,602,969 bytes)

RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.56.651.0_RS_TITAN_3.42.02_S PCS2.04_PPST_0718_Ship.exe 63.9 MB (67,078,287 bytes)

The ROM/files that you end up with on your phone after updating may well be identical, but there "is" a difference in these file sizes. ...and I'm not talking out my a$$.
