Re: nueROM 2.2 Bleeding Edge General Discussion Thread

hmm, that is interesting.. I have recently started messing with sashimi. I actually decided that it doesn't completely serve my needs, ie having different "auto" configurations. I can do it by having different folder's, but have manually change them based on which phone I happen to be setting up. I have actually started writing some mortscripts to do some of the customizations I want/need. hopefully I can make them compatable with sashimi though because I do kinda like how it automates some things.

Re: nueROM 2.2 Bleeding Edge General Discussion Thread

This third preview simply rocks! This is what the first should have been... Just an issue which is still there - not able to select multiple mesages as earlier - otherwise, the keyboard fix and the kernel switch...wow, No2 is flaunting his genius there! This third preview is enough usable to make me switch cos I use texting a lot, and the first version just crippled that for me. With every release he gets better!

Anybody! Where may I get the beautiful black HTC Smart Mobility screens? Cook-able in the kitchen?

No2, sure I am going to donate more than last time once I get my pay check this month!

Re: nueROM 2.2 Bleeding Edge General Discussion Thread

well, i always disable sleep... because of the stock alarm not working (i tried this when i got it and was surprised a few days at the alarm not waking itself and me up!).

Then again, i have the extended battery so i don't see the negatives others might? What's the disadvantage to disabling sleep?

Is that nonsense?

Others don't agree with you.

So get over yourself.
As a temporary bandaid sure, and if you want to disable it that's fine, but don't act like the phone misses calls in sleep mode because that is pure speculation on your part. Giving that as advice to people who do not have SOD problems (no2 has fixed that already) is completely silly. Do what you want but not being able to put the phone in sleep is an utter deal breaker for most people (as it should be, these are designed to be in sleep mode most of the time). The fact that you have "tested" and your phone misses calls I do not buy at all, and even if you have, you certainly cannot say for sure the phone would have gotten those calls if it wasn't in sleep. If there was a serious problem with the phone waking up when calls come in, there would be tons of postings on the forum about this (as there have been with some buggy roms). I was simply saying without a specific problem disabling sleep mode is certainly bad advice (and since it has been fixed there is no problem). The phone does NOT have problems with missing calls in sleep mode under normal circumstances. The radio is still active in sleep mode and will wake the phone.

FYI it is you who needs to get over yourself, don't act like you're the only one with important calls. Just saying. Many of us are on call and/or have important phone calls coming in. I wasn't making any personal attacks before and I'm not sure why you felt the need to. I'm sure if someone has a "tech support emergency" with one of their laptops they'll call twice anyways.

I think this has been fixed for a while actually, but I don't use the alarm so I couldn't say for sure. The only real disadvantage is greatly reduced battery life when you are not using it (and additional wear and tear on your battery). If you're getting acceptable battery life with your extended battery without sleep and your alarm isn't functioning when it goes to sleep then I'm sure there isn't another downside, but like most people here I have enough problems keeping my battery charged . My only point of posting was to point out that the device normally doesn't have a problem missing calls when sleeping and that that was a silly reason for disabling sleep.

There you again. First "it's not an option."

Then it's "nonsense."

Now, I "act like..."

I was simply stating the facts for the readers of this forum.

You must be 12.

Excuse me? I was stating that it was not an option for most people. The battery life on this phone is bad enough, and they are designed to go to sleep. Also, I have no idea what the part you quoted has to do with it being an option. That sentence was saying that sleep mode works fine and that the radio is still on and will wake the device when a call comes in.

Also, I've only said it was nonsense to assume the phone misses calls in sleep mode. Reread my posts.

You are not stating facts, you are stating hypothetical made up situations. I am not about to get into a pissing match on a forum with you. Stop making personal attacks as it just makes your argument weaker. Someone disagrees and you have to bring up your "awesome tech support job" and make personal attacks. You have no idea what anyone else on this forum does or anything about them. I am not going to reveal any personal information on this forum as I keep my professional and private lives separate, but it suffices to say I am not 12 or an age that begins with a "1." </rant> you've earned it.

Re: nueROM 2.2 Bleeding Edge General Discussion Thread

I thought my suggestions were working when using the keyboard, but apparently they are not. When I'm entering a contact recipient for text message or emails, the suggestions are not coming in.

If I use the regular soft keyboard, the suggestions come up like normal. If i use the PCM keyboard, I have to press delete for the suggestions to come up.

Nothing works If I use just the hardware keyboard. I hope we can figure out a fix for this.

Is the newest version of this 5770 pre8? Or is there a newer one available? If so, where is it? I can't seem to find anything newer on the ftp.

thanks!

The newest version is nueROM 3 Pre 3 but it can only be gotten if you have donated and from nuerom.com.

Otherwise, yes that is the newest you can get from the FTP.
