Re: iceROM

Providing a base functionality and an SDK for making theme packs for it would be sweet. I could see people going crazy for that.

Re: iceROM

Agreed Turbo - I would do it too - I have a hodgepodge of various things on my phone and if someone were to put something together that made it easier (just not enough hours in the day), I would be all over it!

Re: iceROM

Not only that, but I flash my ROM so often that manually putting back the skins and such for each app is a chore. I've automated as much as I can, but the skins and things I usually have to do manually. So something that makes it easier to make a common feel (or steal the ones others have made), and even easier to auto-apply it to everything would be really helpful.

Re: iceROM

You will get the ability in version 0.1.4b I know most people might feel that using cab install methods may defeat the reasoning to build a ROM, but this is the only honest way I can give people choices inside the ROM. I recognize not everyone wants to use S2u2 and having it packed in can be a nucense. I recognize you can remove ilock from startup. I made s2u2 optional in .2a private and to cut down on cab installs on .2a public I packed it back into the ROM as OEM with s2u2 iceSettings.

I am greatly leaning to my ROM being fairly clean with iceROM settings / configurations being what it is and leaving external appz to the user to install via the auto config customizer. You can see this already from icePack OEM yourself. For sure I would still use my theme packs my dialer base system so you can change the dialer during config. Settings would be in the background unknown if the user chose not to install an app, and if they did later on it would be auto configured.

I am on the newer radio posted and have had good luck so I made it a high suggestion. If you would like to upgrade the radio not needed if you don't want to, try using the SD card upgrade option and it will not wipe out your phone.

Best of luck

Re: iceROM

Thanks and nice work on the ROM. I just installed a little earlier today. I'm running the 3.49 beta and the 3.42.30 radio.

The only issue that I have had - and I'm sure it's just because I'm a noob to this phone and this level of customization - is that the phone keypad style/theme/skin, not really sure which is the proper term, is not really readable/viewable outdoors - this is a general problem with this phone anyway, but it is worse because of the transparency - in my opinion.

How can I change this particular screens graphics/style?

I've gone through most of the images - very sweet stuff - kudos...
Now I get to figure out how to use all the other stuff you've managed to pack in.
