I miss these two features also. I worked around the button to sms issue. However, its real annoying that when incoming text come I can no longer just click "Dismiss" with a quick thumb swipe. I have to select Menu from the right soft key then Dismiss from the sub-menu.

I wish there was a way to get it to just have two options: reply & dismiss. These are really the only two things you do with a new text. This seems like a counter intuitive design choice by MS. Now, I have to click menu then carefully select "Dismiss" from the small context menu that pops up.
