Re: GPS on alltel 6800 - easy way

I'm new to all this but I would like to get GPS enabled on my US Cellular HTC 6800 but all I see is updating the Alltel 6800. Am I able to use the Alltel procedures on my USCell phone without messing it up?

Thanks

You should be able to follow all the steps just fine. I think post 2 has USCC PDE servers if the Alltel ones don't work for you.

Re: GPS on alltel 6800 - easy way

I upgraded my ROM on my Alltel PP 6800 to the newest release and noticed that GPS was unlocked but not AGPS as I could not get Google Maps to work but the built in Alltel Nav was working.

I reapplied the GPS unlocked and then the Super Lock on fix and now GPS AND AGPS are not working.... any ideas?

Hmm is this correct ? the new sprint rom from HTC ( 9-30-08 ) now comes with GPS unlocked?

can the GPS be used with other aps such as TomTom ?

i would realy love to know this as im wanting to get rid of the custom roms and use sprint release

Check the Location Setting. They turn it off for whatever reason.

Yes. Turn Location Setting on.

Unfortunately my location setting is already on... and I know my GPS is screwed because when i'm in Google Maps it says "initializing GPS" instead of "seeking sats". Now not even Alltel Nav will work.

I'm trying to avoid re flasing the ROM... I just got all of my programs and contact reloaded.... Any ideas would be appreciated.

Check the GPS Settings and make sure it is set to COM4/4800 baud, let Windows Manage GPS settings, and no Software anything is set.

Yup there again... my settings are correct, COM4/4800 and win is managing my GPS. Is there any known negative affects or applying the GPS Fix patches to this ROM?
