Re: New "Official" Sprint ROM (3.49, radio 3.39.10)

Does this ROM require Olipro or any SPL hack? I can't get it to install natively. I get an error 328 whenever it starts the process.j

Re: New "Official" Sprint ROM (3.49, radio 3.39.10)

I did it. I would have liked to keep the sprint setup because I had 5 bars, but I had to flash all the Cricket stuff on there and now Im back to 2, nothing really changed. I just spent 45 minutes on the phone and pretty much the same fuzzy spots in my house as before. I havent tried GPS yet. What I did notice was going back to the Sprint Rom, now the phone is branded everywhere with the Sprint PCS logos on the Todays screen that you cant get rid of. I liked the Alltel Rom better for that, no branding anywhere besides the startup splash. Although I cant justify the extra $50 a month to go to Sprint for the same unlimited I have with CricKet for half the cost.

GPS works a lot better on this ROM. Ive had it installed very several days now. GPS picks up sat within 30 seconds with GPSToday.

I will give a word of warning. I did have huge issues at first. I had to flash my phone about 6 or 7 times to try and remove all the bugs. From what i can guess is that when i flashed the first time the new radio drivers were a little buggy or didnt install properly and was not able to connect to any cell towers.

Additionally i dont see any diffrent changes from rev a speed increases. Battery does seem ot drain a lot faster with the rom. Maybe something has changed and something is running elsewise i dont know about.

Please see my signature to see my current phone configuration.

How patient are you? is the main question.. So far having my own account and reading others more then likely your going ot have initial problems with installing the new rom. If you are not a total geek or dont have any tech background i would NOT suggest it.

It is a faster rom, more free memory to work with . Other than Sprintv not working, and having to install a old, old version of HTC home, it is worth it. The old winmo 5 version of HTC home is not worth installing imo. It only works using the touch screen, the jog wheel doesn't work with it. Also, you cannot customize it in the Today settings. So other than the loss of those two pieces of software, the rom seem to be an improvement.
