make sure that you rename your pocket pc the same name it had before you upgraded,, the computer is recognizing it as a different phone and will not sync your contacts back to it,, until it recognizes it as the original one

Open the windows mobile device center when you connect to your PC then click connect and set up . A pop up will show you what options you have, one of them should be your contacts that should be stored in your outlook. Let it sync and you should have all your contacts.

I keep a working bluetooth phone around and update all my contacts to it then I can resend them back in an emergency (like this one)
I have never gotten activesync to save contacts and refuse to run a 7 year old program (outlook) on my PC why it doesnt work with outlook express is a mystery to me (? ? why ask me to load an outdated email app WTF? ?)
