Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

in abstact calling it a kitchen was very apt. that in a nut shell is what I still fight... the kitchen can be a warm welcoming thing if you know the ingredients you need and know what you want to cook but if you don't it is terrifying and scarry. I wish they had asterics or something and said if you like your stock phone just want to add gps start check the asteric ones... it would take some fear out of it... just yesterday I tried to open a .pdf and alas I must have missed it in the last cooking... that is the next huge hurdle... it takes awhile to put everything back in after cooking so I get reluctant ....

That is my point exactly . It's the little things that even though you may not think about at the time of putting it all together then you need it.

One of the biggest things that saved me time was using the OEMizer, which saves a lot of your personal settings in there. I don't know the exact name of the program but it's an option to use from the menu of BuildOS.

Ok but personal settings is not what I am looking for. What I was looking for is a list of the stock programs that come OEM on it. I looked and there is a lot of little things that can be over looked easily like Slide tone and stuff that are in sub menus.

well the reason its a kitchen is so you can leave out things from the stock rom if you dont use 'em. now granted - there could possibly be some kind of mark indicating what is stock or not for n00bs (dont think there is, but i know u can right click for more info on most items) - besides that, most anything u miss you can find a cab for

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

now that you brought up OEMiser... I did find it, did fill it out on 5060 and updated some stuff on 5067 but it does not load any of the information anymore. I end up re-entering everything. I don't know if I turned something On or Off but it doesn't appear to look at the OEMiser when cooking anymore...

Well now I think I am gonna have some fun trying this out. Hope I don't trash a phone. I burned up enough CDMA Motorolas to have paid for 2 6800's full retail price. Wish me Luck.

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

Is there any talk of US Cellular putting out an update to enable the gps feature on the 6800 or are we stuck to custom roms for our carrier.

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

Shiftmx... not sure what your updater issue is but you can only update one thing at a time as there are bugs... as to not seeing US Cellular are you grabbing "Titan_No2Chem_5060_WM6.1 selections" that has the USCC not sure about the others...

5tryk3r... I've called USCC and Utstarcom and US Cellular said they see no reason and UT said they won't unless the carrier requests one.... feel free to call the more people that make the effort the more pressure that is applied.. I couldn't even get the stock Rom out of either in case of the need to go back to stock...
