Re: Bricked Alltel Phone. Any help?

Did the dcd rom load ok, but then the phone wouldn't start? If so, sounds like you did everything correctly, but missed a step. When you are stuck on the splash screen after an upgrade, you need to take the battery out for 30 seconds, then put it back in and do a hard reset (hold 2 soft keys and push soft reset button). Obviously, this is a very easy fix, and it sounds like you might have bigger problems, but I always like to try the easy solutions first.

Re: Bricked Alltel Phone. Any help?

The DCD did flash Ok, but the phone did not boot back up. It is stuck on the black HTC screen. Hard reset works, but after the erase the phone goes back to the black HTC screen. Holding down Camera-power-reset also gives me either the HTC screen or no screen.

Re: Bricked Alltel Phone. Any help?

Just to check, you have removed the battery for 30 seconds like magoo66 recommended?
if so, not sure what to try next. sometimes if its a totally black screen, you can take a bright light and shine on it to see if there IS anything listed there such as bootloader or anything.

Re: Bricked Alltel Phone. Any help?

I just charged the battery to full capacity. The battery was out of the phone for an hour. Put it back, ran the hard reset. The hard reset works fine. But reboot brings me back to HTC splash screen. I even get the 3.35 rev id appear in red at the bottom of the screen. Then it dissappears, and the machine stays on the HTC splash screen.

The RUU file was called RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.35.651.2_RS_TITAN_3.35.04_4 350H_SPCS_AM_Ship.exe

Oh Fudge! Is this the 4350 auto-bricker that cokeman has been warning everyone about? I wish someone would go through the ftp site and remove those instances. All I wanted was to fix the bluetooth on this phone, which would not connect to my car's bluetooth without locking up. If Alltel or HTC would have fixed this, I would not be in this state. Oh well, live and learn. Paperweight, anyone?

It doesn't sound like you know what bootloader mode looks like, but you do have a 3.35 radio. Have you ever seen the tricolor screen? Can you get to the tricolor screen?
