Any way to confirm GPS and EVDO-A functionality?

I flashed the latest Kitchen yesterday on my Verizon XV6800.

My download speeds don't really look any different than on my XV6700, so I don't know if EVDO-A is working properly.

GPS also doesn't seem to work. I have tried getting satellites via Google Maps and Live Search, but to no avail.

Is there any way to test/observe/verify whether EVDO-A and/or GPS is working properly on my XV6800?

Thank you!

I use QuickGPS to get things going. Only other thing I needed to do is turn location on in phone settings.

I dont know how to verify revA speed. From what i've read it show as disabled in programming on sprint but i cant find it on the xv6800

Did you flash the radio, as well, or only the ROM?

Yes, I'm at Radio 3.35 according to my boot-up screen.

And now, based on old_school_dave's suggestion, I turned Location "On".

Re: Any way to confirm GPS and EVDO-A functionality?

That was the trick for GPS! I had to select "LOCATION ON" for the "Settings >> Phone >> Services >> Location Setting" tab.

It was VERY slow getting the satellites though (about 10 minutes before it acquired). Is that normal?

Now, I just need further info on verifying EVDO-A functionality.

Dial ##778#

Select View

View info --> Data Parameter --> Rev. A (Disable/Enable)

Could this be it?

if you do that and it says "disable" then leave it alone as it is already enabled by default...switching it turns it off...

Re: Any way to confirm GPS and EVDO-A functionality?

Had the same question about evdo-rev a it is auto enabled on vzw. All of the verizon evdo network is currently rev a. If you get evdo signal on vzw and have done the 3.35 upgrade you are getting evdo rev a. Had it confirmed by a buddy in tech support on mine. The download speed is somewhat faster but the big difference is the upload speed.
