I got the message as a pop up when loading the kitchen. I fixed it by deleting the Personal OEM line from the selections.txt file and selecting it again once the kitchen loaded. Moving on to no2chem's 5060 base kit now.

I clicked on Chat yesterday and was on for over an hour. They kept referring me to nueExtROM Configuration Tool and could not come up with any other suggestions.

I searched extensively for this answer and did not find it. For my own edification, could you point me to the 2 posts you referred to in this thread that would have resolved my issue? I even searched outside this thread and couldn't find an answer.

The guid for your personal OEM had changed. Same folder name, different GUID.

It's well established that some programs save to the first storage device. In most of these cases, the only fix is to hide the device. I think the subject last time was about pie and temporary files. Suprising you couldn't find it outside this thread...it was a frequently mentioned problem when ext rom was first unhidden. That was before the move to the current server, however, so the posts may have been lost.

Unless the kitchen at www.ppckitchen.org and is downloaded from the url:http://ppckitchen.org/buildos/buildos.msi is unofficial, I am using the "official kitchen". With no mods to any of the folders, using the straight builder - I get duplicates. Do a search for *.wma and you'll see pretty much every file has a duplicate.

For example... Die Zauberflote. I have three of them.
(icon=mem chip)Die Zauberflote .wma
(icon=mem chip)Die Zauberflote.wma
(icon=wm)Die Zauberflote.wma

For the others, I have two: Dome.wma, Flight of the bumblebee.wma, guitar.wma, Halloween.wma, etc etc.

Anyway, use a registry editor like PHM RegEdit and go to: HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\EXT_FLASHDRV

To hide the extended ROM: "MountHidden"=dword:00000001 (Value Data = 1)

To once again unhide the extended ROM: "MountHidden"=dword:00000000 (Value Data = 0)

BTW, I loaded the nueExtROM Configuration Tool Module in my kitchen, but even that application wasn't able to hide the extended ROM for some reason.
I made two quick CABS containing the following setup.xml:
Code:
<wap-provisioningdoc>

<characteristic type="Registry">
    <characteristic type="HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\EXT_FLASHDRV">
       <parm name="MountHidden" value="0" datatype="integer"/>
    </characteristic>
 </characteristic>

</wap-provisioningdoc>
With the MountHidden Parameter changed between them. Hope they are useful to someone...

That's not the kitchen...are you using no2chem 5054 kitchen or 3.35 kitchen?

That's not the official kitchen? The links under the header Titan Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0) is not the official kitchen?? What is the point of the site if that isn't the "official" kitchen?

To answer your question- I've used both with the same result.

After my post last night I upgraded to the 5059 kitchen (which is much faster - good work no2chem) and contains the same duplicate/triplicate files. Using Total Commander I did a search & found that some of the files are in \Windows and others are in \Windows\Rings.

RE:Sprint customization error
Quote:
This is a remnant from your Extended Rom. You do not need to let the customizations run.
I have a verizon phone, So it makes sense it could not find the sprint customizations. But shouldn't selecting Verizon as the carrier in the Kitchen change the device to load verizon customizations if I want them? It also hangs after failing to load the sprint file and requires a reset.

Some other issues:
Can't select one of the versions of Flashlight. (first in the list) Second one works fine.

Tray Launch OEM configures two launch icons that can't be found. I guess it might be that I decided not to install those two things when I cooked but the OEM should install clean no?

But I have to say this is definitly the best Kitchen system out there!
Great Job guys! I tried a number of different ROMs and I always went back to this kitchen!

Only thing I would like to see is a few extra selection.txt files and OEMs that would simulate as much as possible what a stock carrier ROM would have.
Such as Wireless Sync from Verizon, Etc...

One last OEM bug - The Vogue dialer has an issue that if you close something the dialer pops up. Doesn't happen with the other dialers.
Is there a place to give bug reports other than this thread? I don't want to mess up a support thread with bug reports. And truth is all the bugs are in the OEMs the kitchen itself appears to be flawless!

Re: Titan Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0)

Point of clarity, here- as I too am confused about some of the terminology...

I thought the 'kitchen' was the place where you 'cook' your ROMs- i.e. the BuildOS utility.

I thought the 'food' used in cooking was the 'basekits', i.e. either the No2Chem base or the stock SPRINT base stuff.

And the ROM is the actual output of the kitchen- the .nbh file that you use to load into your phone. It is a compilation of all the 'food' you selected- the basekits and any other stuff you checked off.

Don't want to belabor the discussions, but it may be easier if we all use the same terminologies....It appears as some of us may be a bit confused....
