Re: Sprint Official and DCD on Alltel - Success Story

Your alltel has to have the data plan of some kind, and mine has to get connections (for google to work) I have had my connection connect but not exchange info (im in north central KS (drive a 30 mile radius of Salina KS, very RURAL areas).

Id lock the thing back up, hard reset the device, install the original (updated) alltel rom. when all that is done, remove the battery, turn on and do a hard reset again. (ive done this as well)

Then I would use the PPCGEEKS kitchen, or DCD's (tried them both) and pick mostly stock apps. (this way you can remove unwanted or unworking apps later via remove/install, because some apps are OLD, that are in the kitchens. With my alltel, it seems to find sats and lock faster if Im actually moving/driving compared to just sitting on the desk or table.

Post edit: I need to tweak more info and settings for my kitchen, currently using PPCGEEKS kitchen that NO2CHEM must have helped with? I installed the task manager, cant recall which one but was 1st choice (refered in kitchen as be all end all of task mans) but I cannot seem to get the 5 or 6 button home screen thingy to work, and now I cant set the same sounds I used (when stock or DCD) for SOUNDS & NOTIFICATION, but this is Minor atm...

havent had time to fully debug everything yet on this cook.

Re: Sprint Official and DCD on Alltel - Success Story

Great write up! Followed very easily and have had limited problems. Here are my issues:

1) phone audio seems to mute when disconnecting from BT (soft reset to fix)
2) loud beep when connecting/disconnecting a call

Has anyone else had any similiar problems, or know of any solution for this?

Re: Sprint Official and DCD on Alltel - Success Story

I followed the instructions exactly. Used Olipro 2.4 and latest sprint ROM. Got up to the "touch screen to begin" screen. Then I ran the DCD kitchen without touching the screen or allowing Sprint customizations to run. And now my phone is stuck on the black HTC splash screen. No bootloader. Pressing Camera + power + reset does not help. Hard reset does not help.
Any ideas?

Re: Sprint Official and DCD on Alltel - Success Story

I got through most of it fairly well....but now I am at the kitchen, and it says "relocating modules" or whatever, then it says "windows cannot find ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again...what do I do..
