If i have been using the DCD rom which means i unlocked my phone and now want to upgrade to the new 3.01 with the new radio, do i need to re-lock it or just install the sprint and go from there?

I don't know for sure if you have to do the unlocker again, but I went ahead and did all the steps in the first post and had no problems whatsoever.

If you are running an older DCD, then you need to upgrade the bootloader to Olipro 2.4.

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
Not sure if this is a Verizon issue or not but here is something that has been going on. When you are done using the gps and you close down Google Maps or any nav program for that matter. Once you fire google maps back up again it says initializing GPS and it cannot find it until you do a soft boot.
For now the only solution I have found so far is to use a small program that Baffle created called GPStoggle. Anyone else have a better solution to this problem |

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
Okay,
I wanted to give you guys an update on my experiences using these directions. I went through all the steps... + Boot loader 2.4 + Sprint Rom (without touching screen) + Then, Nue's Rom After I saw the screen where it said press the screen to set up device after the Sprint install. I didn’t press it. I went back to boot loader to get the rom. I got the rom loaded successfully. I was then stuck in the HTC Mobility screen so I soft-reset. It then booted through to the Windows 6.1 screen. It asked me again to touch the screen to set up windows. So I did because I thought it was okay because it said WM6.1. 6.1 loaded successfully and I was taken to the today screen. I then tried to dial *228 and it said that it was unable to authenticate my phone. I dialed ##778 and got nothing. Dialed ##778# and got nothing. I kind of expected this so I called Verizon's Tech Dept. They had me do all these things again. No luck. I took out the battery and replaced it. The gentleman was stumped on the phone. Then out of nowhere I received a text. LOL. I was like ummmmm...Thanks bye. So now, my phone works. I can make calls. My GPS works. I love the 6.1. But every time I connect to data it says connecting to Sprint...weird. Is this because I touched the screen after the Nue Rom installed? I also don’t have a Verizon Wireless logo in the top left of the today screen. I am assuming that because the Nue Rom is generic that this might be common? But when I click the phone and it shows the phone it says Verizon wireless there. So that is a good sign. Did I do something wrong or is this common? Thanks, Brandon |

Re: How to upgrade an xv6800 with the new Sprint ROM
Brandon, this is exactly what I did and how it now works for me. I also am trying to figure out if we should allow the customizations to run after the Nue ROM loads. I think I'll dare venture into the NUE thread to see if I can get an answer. Wish me luck!!
Hopefully in a little time I'll figure out how to do Kitchens and basekits and cooking oh my! All I'd really want to do is to figure out how to re-verizon-ize my PPC...but I guess once I get into it I'll start wanting other little tweaks also....as soon as I get the time....
