That other number should be different. When you first used QPST, did you happen to save ypur settings? Connect to QPST, look for the load from file, change to "detailed view", look for the first saved file from before you did the restoration (if you did save), load that, then adjust only the GPS settings. Then save that file with a unique name like "testing data". Then write to phone. You can also use ##778# from your phone to look at your settings. VZW had to tell me what my "Home SID/Home NID" settings were supposed to be. After that my data worked fine. Just call VZW tech and tell them you did a hard reset (to troubleshoot your data), and you want to review your "EPST" settings. BTW, what ROM / radio are you using? Re: Restoring your xv6800 to a Stock Verizon ROM
ok finally had chance to sit down and follow your instructions. Have checked my home sid/nid with vzw and they are as they should be. with QPST I read from file as I had indeed saved the original configuration and changed only the gps settings. result ,still no data. now however my phone says it may have an equipment activation pending when *228 is used... so will see where that leads...

Re: Restoring your xv6800 to a Stock Verizon ROM
ok, well verizon advised me that the features I had on my account included a data plan that is nolonger offered for my device and have change me to a cheaper plan for advanced e-mail and browsing (makes me wondaer how long they have charged me for a plan which was not available for my device!) . have followed their instructions and *228 still says I may have an equipment activation pending but then continues to program the phone ,but does not auto reset like it normally does... Hum , oh and still no data conection so wonder if it is actually programing it. oh and radio 3.37.78 and rom is a kitchen 5.2.21501 so back to square one...

Run Advanved Config, dissable the dialer skin. Let it reset, then dial *228. I was told that "Option 2, is supposed to take care of option 1 also. Did you run "Option 3" yet.? |

A while back, VZW sent me a "Refurbed" 6800. It was branded VZW, however the paperwork that came with the phone said: Original carrier: USC. I thought that was strange. And it still had the same problem with not holding the username and password. Error Code 11. But when I changed to the BroadbandAccess setting, it worked. I sent it back anyway. Because my 1yr old XV6800 only had the username and password issue, untill I changed that setting. A the same thing with my XV6900, changed the setting and it holds. |

Re: Restoring your xv6800 to a Stock Verizon ROM
yes is refurbished and have data sheet says current system (at time of test one presumes) US Cellular system type IS=2000 test channel =400. then lower says cell band US PCS. same system type and test channel =325. does this give any ideas? having looked more closely at the test sheet though I notice that the esn and serial numbers do not match those on the unit.hum???!!
