Re: DCD's 3.0.0 Is avilable for those who do it DCDStyle
To ask the dumbest question of all....
Is there a way to force WM 6.1 onto your phone without changing anything else in the current official ROM? Better, could it be done without installing a new ROM? The only thing I don't like about the official ROM is the memory leak in WM 6.0. I'm also very, very lazy, and don't want to set up all my programs yet again. I now return you to your regularly scheduled intellegent discussion. |

How is DCD 3.0.0 versus the new official stock rom? I am finding the new official stock rom to be very quick and snappy.. Faster than any stock or custom rom I've used in the past....

I think it is just as snappy as his kitchen of the unofficial ROM w/ WM6.1. That one was definitely faster to me than the stock. I haven't even used the official update yet. Went straight to DCD when he had the kitchen up.

IMHO. 6.1 is snappier than 6.0, has better memory management and just feels more polished. But truth be told I only spent about 15 min on the new ROM before installed DCD 3.0.0.

Re: DCD's 3.0.0 Is avilable for those who do it DCDStyle
I was on the new stock ROM for about 24 hours. I didn't install much on the phone, only TomTom and google maps. I noticed the ROM to be quite snappy but locked up while doing mundane tasks such as changing the volume. I also had it fail to output any sound, via speaker, earpiece, or bluetooth. A soft reset fixed it of course.
DCD's 3.0.0 runs great so far. |

I noticed the sound thing too. I had my speaker just stop working last night and a soft reset cleared it right up and it didnt do it again. I was running the new radio with 3.16 based DCD 2.3.2. Its all good now.
I have a good 1.5MB more free memory at boot now. I am booting up to 21.5-22 |

Re: DCD's 3.0.0 Is avilable for those who do it DCDStyle
Why does dcd's page say that things like java, adobe, and live search have been removed? I mean, most people will need to turn around and install those anyway right? Is it a speed or compatibility issue?
