Although I bet NueLED2 will have something along those lines. (No2Chem: Just making sure this makes your top 30 to-do list. :D

Yeah, the KaiserNotification program does seem to control the LED's directly. That's probably why it can keep the red LED flashing, even though the phone periodically resets address 4 to zero, and why its changes take effect without a reset.

Unfortunately, KN has the wrong LED mapping for us (e.g., it assigns bluetooth to the red/green/amber LED). It also seems to be a memory hog. I saw it using almost 1MB of memory, so I removed it.

It would be nice to have a small-footprint program that gave us more control of the LEDs...

As for programming different colors, I doubt the LEDs can produce more colors than what we've seen -- but I'd love to be proven wrong on that...

if i get a chance, that is.. IF i will implement the IOCTL_FORCE_LED command, which is what kaiserled uses.

i've had more requests for help with nueminutes though, so it'll have to hold off until then =)

Re: nueLED - configure/customize your LEDs...

I've been playing with this for a bit now, but I can't seem to figure out how to change the charge light to the bluetooth light. I would like the light to show up solid blue when charging, then green when done. I did re-assign the status light to the bluetooth light already. Can I not assign the others to the bluetooth light if something else is already there?

Re: nueLED - configure/customize your LEDs...

from whatI understand, all nueled does is redirects whichever led is suppose to light up but it cant alter if it stays solid or flashes. and the bluetooth led just flashes it does not stay solid

ok I removed this program from my phone. Now how do you remove the "MyCPL 26" icon in the system/settings menu? I tried file explorer and can't locate it to delete it.

unless we can find the address that has a solid blue LED, if it exists
There are many possibilities, if they exist.

I signed up to say thanks for this. I have been using hermled and icnot and it was a little bit of a pain to get everything right. nueLED definitely makes things better. (Thanks to hermled too!)

I am also interested in keeping the blue led on solid. But would it be possible to send less power to lower it's intensity? Like the vibrate mod that lowers the strength of the motor?

Thanks, keep up the good work. I'll donate to this cause.

im not sure how much control over the leds we have, im just interfacing with the real driver. the goal eventually though, would be to replace allleddrvr....

as for a future roadmap, no eta though because i don't know how busy im gonna be:

-implement force_led iocontrol (should be able to keep red light on, etc)
-implement virtual led address table
-figure out how to directly control leds
-notifications

Re: nueLED - configure/customize your LEDs...

so...my led stopped blinking completely, before i ever used this program..i did install it..just didnt dive into it yet and set things. the green light comes on(blinks)when i soft reset...the yellow charge light comes on when i charge, but was being really slow about it. taking a while to turn on, then staying on for a little after i disconnect from the charger. strange. i opened this nueled up and set the status led to bluetooth, but nothing. oh yes, the blue led stopped blinking as far as i can tell as well. very strange.

EDIT : may've had an older version? reinstalled, all good.

Hey,

first of all, thanks that you try to help HTC Touch owners. That said, I own a HTC Touch (XDA Nova) and I got annyoed by this blinking green LED. So I found your program and installed it. No the problems begin: It doesn't work! If I try to change something nothing happens. I can't start Diagnostic Mode too. I tried everything including soft resets and so on, nothing helps. But the other problem is, that I can't completly uninstall it. One registry entry, the one with the nuedll under build in drivers ALWAYS comes back. I read a lot of your postings in the boards but nothing helped so far.

can you help me?

greetings,
matthias

i found this from the man himself over @ xda. i'm going to give it a shot. thought you'd be interested as well...::

If you use the cab version and decide to remove it, you need to set
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr]
"Index"=dword:1

and perorm a soft reset to re-enable the old led driver. Also delete the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\nueLED] key.

good luck. may the force be with you.

Hmmm, no2chem. I don't know if you've thought of this, but Resco Recorder somehow has the Red LED light blink steadily during recording. Maybe you could find out what commands its issuing?

I have the sprint HTC Touch and this program works great. The only thing that sucks is that you have to reset the phone before changes will go into effect. Long live no2chem! great program!

Have you tried the RESET LEDs button in the EXTRAs tab? This always works for me although sometimes it takes time to kick in.

Has anyone successfully mapped the right signal LED instead of cellular signal to the GPS signal? I am trying to make it so that if the GPS chip is running the LED flashes. I have already disabled the standard signal address but I can't find the GPS address to add via nueLED. Any help?

no2chem hasn't added a GPS control yet. Hopefully he can figure it out. But I'm not sure if it reports through the rilphone.dll file.

OK I am a new Touch user and this is my first PDA. I have read the 23 pages and it looks as if the 1.5 is the version to install. How do i install it? I downloaded it then went to active sync and clicked add remove programs but it wouldn't let me add.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Re: nueLED - configure/customize your LEDs...

Hi, it depends on which version you downloaded. if you got it from here:
http://www.weienterprises.com/nue/nueled.html

Which did you get? If you got the Download nueLED 1.5 (CAB) Here then you unzip that, then put the .cab file on your phone. Once it's on your phone just run that file and it'll install.

If you got Download nueLED 1.5 (OEM) here then I don't know lol it's just a folder with files. Maybe you just put that folder on the phone and run it from that directory.

Good luck

Re: nueLED - configure/customize your LEDs...

[QUOTE=no2chem;189195]Hello,

I have designed a intermediate LED driver that sits between the led driver and decides which calls to pass through and whether to redirect them or not.

NEW VERSION 1.5 with loads of new features. Its HIGHLY suggested that you update! Improved device support and memory leak fix.

http://www.weienterprises.com/nue/nueled.pnghttp://www.weienterprises.com/nue/nueledconfig.png

Basically, you can now turn off your signal light, make it flash blue instead of green, or whatever you wish. So far it's been tested on the titan and the kaiser, but should work on any device that uses ALLLEDMGR. nueLED renames allledmgr to LED2: and names itself LED1:. Please let me know if it works/doesn't work on your device.

Settings are stored in the registry, -1 means active and -2 means inactive, any other number is a redirect. To figure out new addresses, use diagnostic mode in settings.

Heres a short tutorial on how to make your signal LED flash blue:
Select the signal led from the list. It has address 8, mode 1.
Select the option "Redirect to LED Address", and select bluetooth LED.[QUOTE=no2chem;189195]

no2,
is there any way to map the sleep feature to a hardware button ?
Also, ho about a way to save settings so you can more easilly recover after a hard reset? :-) -TOV

Re: nueLED - configure/customize your LEDs...

anyone else notice system slowdown?

i havent installed any apps on my 6800 in a while. my phone was working fast and smooth. after installing this i have noticed my phone 'slows' down after a 10 mins of use.

i have the 1.5 cab. and run the official ALLTEL ROM that has the REV A update. I used nueLED to disable the wifi and service blinking green LED.

no2chem,

I run a program called Task Manager 2.7 by fdcsoft. i go into in to the 'devices' menu and it lists a bunch of devices. i.e. $device\LED1(LED1: )

devices listed named:
$device\LED2(LED2: ) and $device\BKL1(BKL1: ) both say they are 'LOADED' and 'Automatic' and use the dll AllLEDMgr.dll. Only $device\LED1(LED1: ) says its using the nueLED.dll.

could this be why I am having 'slowdown' issues?

it seems that your dll and the factory dll are both running. could they be conflicting eachother?

for the time being I have 'UNLOADED" the 2 that uses AllLEDmgr.dll and will report back if i see any progress.

unloading the dll will make it so I have no LED at all. <-- after doing this i loose all LED indications.

UPDATE:
might be to early to call but it does seem to be running faster now that i have the 2 devices unloaded.

Re: nueLED - configure/customize your LEDs...

you wrote a program that cant be uninstalled without a hard reset. sure wish that was on the 1st post. tried deleting the reg entries with task manager 2.7 and resco reg edit. neither work. this needs fine tuning. if you hate hard reseting like i do, wait for an update. guess im stuck with it till i have 4 hours to re-set up my phone.

No2,
Still having the problem on all your bleeding edge builds where nueLED will work to shut off the charge and charge completed LED's, but after a few minutes they both start working again...

Also...any chance of a way to backup user-settings so they can we can more easily restore after a hard reset?

Mmmm....I'll see if I can find it :-)
I did something that seemed to work however, it was annoying...
I turned off every variation for addresses 3,4,5 and 6.
Once I did that, the charge light went off.

Now why the heck did I have to do that...?
And...what is causing the charge complete light to be on multiple addresses as well?

...as soon as I can I'll get that file to you.

Edit: Those LED's came on anyway...

Where is the Log File and where is kept when it is made?

1) These are the addresses that come up over and over again when the Diagnostic Mode is on. Both of these addresses have been previously disabled and come on even in Sleep Mode:

Address: 22
Mode: 1

Address: 4
Mode: 0

Address: 2
Mode: 1

Address: 8
Mode: 1

A final thought: have you considered setting up a profile mode for this program so it/the LED's can be used something like SBP Phone Suite or PhoneAlarm?

there is a nueledcontrol program on my site that will let you make shortcuts like "nueledcontrol.exe -m 8 1" which will turn on led 8, mode 1."

maybe i will make a shortcut generator later. reading the diagnostic log, it seems like

Address: 2
Mode: 1

is causing the issue. this is the notification led... maybe a missed call or something?

toviaheli 06-19-2008 07:22 AM

Re: nueLED - configure/customize your LEDs...

I doubt it. This has been an ongoing problem for some time, regardless missed calls. That particular address came into the log because I did in fact miss a call while diagnostics was running.

I ran again last night and these kept coming up over and over:
Address: 22
Mode: 1

Address: 4
Mode: 0

They are both turned off, yet keep coming on anyway.

Even if I redirect these Led's to the Bluetooth LED, they still come on in their default location...

Signal light works just fine. The problem is related to the charging and charging complete lights. :-)

Update:
I thou this might be of significance, and I had forgotten to mention it previously. The charge LED's only come on 4-5 seconds after the device has gone to sleep or I have put it to sleep using the power button.
