Are you happy with 6.1?

I'm finally pretty happy with my customized GPS-enabled WM6 build, but the prospect of a 6.1 is intriguing.

I've heard mixed reviews of 6.1 on the titan... at first it was buggy (to be expected), but now it sounds like no2chem has paved a path for stable 6.1 releases.
So, I'm wondering if anyone who has 6.1 would like to share their opinion on it versus 6.0- is it really that much faster? Is it stable?
What "issues" are there still to work out? What doesn't work (I'm sure its not flawless yet)?

Running dcd 2.2.2 for alltel for about 3-4 days here. Stability hasnt been an issue except for the ever present ram leak from HTC Home. But even running on 13-15mb of ram my phone seems to get down to after 6-8 hours the phone seems to run quite a bit smoother and more responsive than it ever did on the Stock Rom and slightly better then the 1.6 DCD rom I ran for a while.

To me the threaded txt msging is worth any and all probelms Ive had, which ranged from constantly dropping signal to no MMS. But with each update problems have been fixed and now the phone runs better then ever. I love the GPS and Threaded Text that 6.1 offer.

My advice, give it a go, you can always go back if you dont like it.

Just FYI im not a "power user" IE only 5-30 mins max of calls a day with 30-45 mins surfing the web and only 10-30 txt a day. So there may be issues that arise with more extensive use that what i put it through.

I can also say that I have enjoyed 6.1 more than any other rom that I have used for the mogul so far. I am running dcd's2.2.3 rom and I like it. The only thing I can say is that during the first 24hrs of using the rom whether I had programs running or not, ram would hover around 6 to 10megs no matter what. Ram was leaking faster than a knife to a water balloon. Anyway after a few soft resets while installing various programs, the memory leaking hasn't been that much of a problem. It seems that once all programs are closed it goes back to about 15 to 17 megs of available ram up from 6 to 10. Just try it for yourself and if you don't like it you can always flash to another rom.

After waiting for the later issues to be worked out with dcd's 2.2.x line, i moved back into the more hybrid 2.1.0 and i am really enjoying it. I am not having problems downloading at all and i think the 2.1.0 has a differ page pool as I have a little more memory than i did with 2.2.0 (about 24 meg on boot with Pocket Plus, PhoneAlarm, quickmenu. GPS is working very nicely, and just really enjoying it.

i'm a huge fan of 6.1 as i am convinced that these current builds are far faster than anything thats been out in the past and that the battery life (i'm a very heavy user) is incredible

Thumbs up Seriously in-like with 2.2.0 based cook

I've been on a dcd 2.2.0 based build for several days and think it's great. The cache "leak" doesn't mean crap since everything runs better than ever regardless. TomTom dynamic graphics and screen scrolling is smooth as silk now. File Explorer listing of \Windows takes all of a couple seconds. In WM6.0 it took 30?! (crazy long time anyway).

I've had zero issues with any programs, surfing, WLive push mail, server synchs, BT, GPS, alarms, roaming, refresh...you name it. =D>

Color me impressed. I'm not hankerin' for any updates at this point.

DCD's next build will have all the storage card issues worked out and will have the full port of WM6.1 (unlike 2.1 which I am still using). That should be out this weekend. If you want to try 6.1, this is the ROM for you (or no2chem's lattest build which is already out, but I really like DCD ROMs).

having just switched from dcd 2.1 (old xip + 6.1) to no2chems latest i can say that the speed difference is very noticable. In your case going from 6.0 to 6.1 should be a much bigger increase in performance. When i went from dcd 2.0 (6.0) to 2.1 there was also a good performance boost. I have not tried dcd 2.2.x since he has been having problems porting the xip however no2chem seems to have it down.

both dcd2.1 and no2chem's latest are very stable.
the only problem i have seen is with windows live not wanting to sign in. i have not tried it with no2chems version yet but it was posted a few days ago and i did confirm it with dcd2.1.

I am going to have to agree with everyone else, I love 6.1. It works great. But I do also get the RAM leak, I have seen it as low as 8mb. I get 19mb on a soft reset. Also I have noticed that I can't close ActiveSync, it will re-open itself after a few minutes.

I'm very impressed with 6.1. It's considerably faster then any of the stock ROM's. I have had zero problems with the latest releases from no2chem and the added features are huge. I'm looking forward to the new radio release to see what custom ROMS are created from that.

As another posted recommended, just give it a try. It's not a big deal to go back to another ROM if you don't like it. I would bet though you don't.
