i think the MAJOR problem in people's minds is most people dont know the difference between a "good" source and a "bad" source. Emails from CS or anyone in Sprint is a BAD source of info. Talking for a phone rep is a BAD source of info. Talking to any in-store rep is a BAD source on info. Personally knowing someone inside Sprint who works for them is a GOOD (well better) surce of info. Working in Sprint (not low-level rep, but an actual engineer or programmer) and actually knowing the right info is a good source.

But people come in here posting emails CS wrote them, my dog's friends owner said this etc. off the wall crap. Or they write HTC and get a cookie cutter answer and take it verbatim (or the opposite making assumptions out of nothing). Any person whos on the phone or emailing you can be anybody they want- you have no clue who they are or what their rank or position is really 99% of the time (or could just be incompetent). Or even futhermore, they mostly get paid to sit there all day and answer questions all day for HTC or Sprint and skim your email and repsond as quick as they can no matter what crapola or falsifications they spew. But people dont take that into account and then come here blurting out 100 dates that end up being totally crap information.

This is why people doubt emails from anyone claiming to be anyone important. unless you physically know the person (still then doesnt mean theyre reliable) I'd take it with a huge grain of salt.

First off i take offense at the term low level reps. I am an in store rep/tech and i agree that some of "us" dont know right from left but alot of us are just like you and we are very well informed. Most of the time an "in-store rep" is reporting what they read on a forum like this. IMO we should just wait until the "official" release happens dont post "insider info" because MOST insiders dont know anymore than low level reps. plus with the geniuses we have here i will never use an offical ROM again, I will just wait until No2Chem or DCD or JD comes out with thier version. I dont mean to rant or upset anybody but you dont have to be a programmer just to be informed, thats all i am saying

So I thought I ought to let you guys know the date of the official release ROM is feb.26. How could I possibly know you ask?

Well I happen to be dating an HTC employee (I'll leave her name out) and have been been for some time. She gets all the test releases, and always gives me insider info. Normally shes pretty tight-lipped about official releases and whatnot, but the most awesome thing happened.

On one of our dates we had a couple too many, and when we made it back to my place we ... well you know what ... and anyways, in the middle of one of her "love throes" she starting screaming ...

"FEB 26th ! OHHHHHH FEB 26TH and its official OHHHHHH !!! OHHH TITAN"

There you have it ... you can thank me later.

"No Rom for you!".
You need a new girl and life if your getting your girl drunk just to find out about a Rom update. Ha

Once again... I'll keep my eye on the official release as usual, but i dunno if that was a true story or just your idea of a joke to throw us off.

ugh.... good story, its all true, except .... it was MY NAME she was screaming, you were just in denial, and substituted the release date to be able to accept

I actually hope the update happens soon as some of the custom Roms are still a bit buggy, maybe all this free beta testing will have been for some good. Also wondering how or if we will ever get WM 6.1 without ripping it from another device, it seems a bit much for a simple Microsoft upgrade.

Uh I thought Sprint was releasing the ROM Update not HTC?....Best original rumor I have heard to date. You gotta admit the rumors keep it humerous...lol
