I spent countless hours last night trying to get it to flash and thought I lost my mind and my phone in the process. I tried all these programs with no positive results, only my phone being stuck in boot loader mode for along time. It was painful since I thought I destroyed my expensive phone so I was up till early morning trying to fix it. I finally managed to get the phone back alive and updated the rom by renaming it TITAIMG.(forgot the extension) and placing it on a blank formatted Fat32 micro SD card I had around. I made the phone boot into boot loader mode (hold power & camera buttons while pushing the soft reset button on bottom) and it updated itself. I had too many problems the traditional way since i'm running Vista and I needed certain drivers, and configure this then that, stand on one foot.....etc.

But it was worth it, the GPS is real and works. So far i've used Google Maps, Microsoft Live Search and Destinator 7 and all seen and accessed my GPS on the phone.

(Cut and pasted)

To do this there are 3 steps:

First take the .exe file and open it with winrar. There will be a file 3.16.....nbh extract that and rename it to TITAIMG.nbh

Next format a microSD card with FAT 32 (required most are fat16 default) and copy the file TITAIMG.nbh to the root of the sd card with a card reader.

Finally place sdcard in device and reset into bootloader mode. The flash will proceed from the SD card and it should work fine. Enjoy!

This thread is starting to look like all the rest of them, THIS thread is supposed to be for those of us who arent programmers and or techies.

to say this,
"If I where you I would get the MSID# and my MSL# before I started. You can get your MSL with this http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=16806&page=7
post #275."

And not tell us how to do it, is of no use to anyone who dosent already know how.

To say,
"boot from the bootlaoder" and not explain how to do it is a complete waste of cyber space.

I am totally banging my head against the wall because every thread is leading me down 59 million different ways.

we need COMPLETE instructions even from "turn on the device"

Please guys help us out but remember we dont have a clue but would like our devices to work at their full potential.

I can't get my MSL number with the app. I open it on my phone and it shows 2 empty spots called "Input" and "Output". I tried entering in in my ESN number into input and got nothing from output and vice versa. WTF is going on?

found this GREAT post

Here's how to get your MSL Unlock Code to edit the settings found under "Dialer Codes" (##code#)#) mentioned earlier.
0. Download GetSPC

Instructions:
1. Unzip and copy the extracted GetSPC folder (with all 3 files) to the storage card on your device.
2. Write down the ESN (Hex) number found behind the battery.
3. Power up and run the 'GetSPC(PPC 2003)' executable on your device.
4. In the 'Input' field, enter the ESN number you wrote down but be sure to use ALL CAPITOLS for the alpha values. (Ex: 123ABCD4, not 123abcd4)
5. Hit the 'Go' button. The value in the 'Output' field will be your "Unlock Code".

THIS IS HOW TO EXPLAIN THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to say something that will be very unpopular here, but I believe it should be said. I do not mean to flame or insult anyone, so please read this with a calm, open mind. And let me say that I am not an expert on this, I have never felt the need to run a custom ROM, so I am pretty new at ROM flashing myself.

If you read the forums here and elsewhere, you can infer that the reason no one has posted a simple, easy to follow set of instructions for installing the TEST ROM that is floating around, is that it does not seem to load consistently on different devices. For some people it runs right through, for some it exits with an error at 11%, for some it just pauses there, some have to disconnect and pull the battery part way through, some people need to run lockers or unlockers and there are multiple versions of those, some need to re-enter MSID or MDN, some have to call Sprint to reprovision their phone and some need to run IOTA, some need to load it off of an SD card, etc.

Yes, I used a lot of buzz words there, and it is hard to follow. The point is, this is a leaked TEST program, it does NOT seem to have a stable installer, and you will most likely have some kind of problem installing it and getting it to work. Maybe, if you need step-by-step easy-to-follow instructions, you should consider not trying to install a TEST program in the first 24 hours it is distributed. Sometime in the near future hopefully someone will figure out what is causing the inconsistencies, and be able to write a procedure that will make it easier to load; the installer seems to me to be the worst part of the package. I have not been around here for very long, but this is the first time I know of that the Bootloader was replaced in a ROM package. And maybe these problems are exactly what HTC wanted to hear about so they would know what to fix BEFORE they released the ROM package. What a concept, hey?
