Well, I did get it to work. It's flashing from the card right now.

The first time I had formatted the card as FAT32 while the card was in the PC and copied TITAIMG.nbh to the card while still in the PC. That's what wasn't working when I put the card into the Mogul and booted into bootloader.

What did work was transferring the file to the card via USB from the PC when the card was in the Mogul. So fingers now crossed that this goes well ...

It finished and screen now says "Update Complete UPDATE SUCCESS". Not sure what to do next. Will it reboot on its own, or do I do a reset?

EDIT: Assumed had to do a reset myself after first removing the card. Did that and booting fine. Seems to have gone well.

Just do a soft reset when it says that it is finished. It should then boot into the windows mobile boot screen. Mine froze the first time so if it sticks in this screen for more then a minute don't be scared to do another soft reset.

Seems to working well, although my MDN and MSID were apparently reset. When trying to go into voicemial the first time it dialed some other default number and the message said phone was not activated.

Had previously run getSPC, had supplied my ESN number and generated the six-digit number. Had used that to dial ##number# and got my MDN and MSID. Turns out for me both were my phone number.

So dialed ##number# again to find that MDN and MSID were indeed wrong. Corrected them, did a soft reset, and was then able to make and receive calls.

First time running Internet Explorer and it said it had to provision data services. Got the "IOTA" in the Start bar. Took a couple of minutes and now everything seems fine.

GPS in Sprint Nav seems to be working. Found my location by standing next to the window after a couple minutes of satellite searching.

Haven't noticed this mentioned in the thread discussions, but the close button now seems to be enhanced with task manager functionality.

Internet is working fine after the data provisioning which was automatic upon first trying to run IE.

Problem I'm having now is that my Vista machine doesn't see the Mogul in Mobile Device Center. Can't establish a partnership.

EDIT: Solved the Mobile Device Center connect problem by just resetting the Mogul.

Questions on the 3.16 Upgrade

So I've dutifully read thru all 870 messages. I think I could survive the
upgrade, tho I'm still unclear on how to get back. I have the file on a
512 SD, ready to plug in. But I'm hesitating. (Sprint Mogul user)

1. I don't understand the lack of EVDO roaming. I want to be able to
connect EVDO in a number of locations around the country. Is it just
Verizon towers? Can I tell where these are? A big potential knockout.

2. I want to be able to listen to MP3s on the USB spigot on airline trips.
Sounds like that doesn't work. Rated as bad.

3. The long boot time is a problem since I've found my phone sometimes
crashes on incoming calls. It's bad enough just to reboot. Painful.

4. Tethering with USB modem works now; I'd thought of doing the registry
hack so I could use the Sprint supplied Internet Sharing which is less of
a hassle to set up than USB modem. I get the notion this isnt' working
correctly. Knockout.

5. I had a couple of aviation GPS programs (anywhere map and pocket
plates) that required shutting off the WM 6 "External GPS" server to get
a connect. I'm worried that I won't be able to connect to these as they
seem kinda fussy. Messy.

6. Sounds like GPS is just alright... there can't be much of a gps antenna
in that phone package, so I'm not surprised it's not as good as a freedom,
for example. Oh well, if you don't have the freeedom, it doesn't work at
all. I always have the phone.

Any comments on this list? The postitives seem good but the knockouts
worrry me. And, I do think U all have signed up to be the beta testers!!

"soon" not likely. Estimates seem to vary between Mar 08 and summer 08.
