1 Attachment(s)
Using Media player, I lose connection with my headphones after every song (weird I know). Whenever I start media player, then plug in headphones, I hove to jostle the wire around to make media player recognize the phones, then at the next song, the headphones get lost again. Doesn't matter what headphones I use (not a wiring issue) and always happens at the end of each song, (have to unplug and then replug/jostle). The included S2P player does not do this, any thoughts?
I am using the connector in the attached picture to attach headphones. |

Humm... that is strange! Sorry for that hassle!! What media player are you referring to? One that is included in this Rom, or one that you installed after?

Re: [5-01-11]Tinkerbell's 29019 Titan Rom TBN 39.92 [Verizon/Sprint/MetroPCS]
The media player continues playing regardless.
Here's exactly what I do. Start media player, put a few songs in the playlist, start it playing (I can hear it through the rear "speakerphone" speaker. Plug in the attachment, speaker goes silent. Plug in headphones. Nothing through headphones. (Other headphones, same thing.) Sloooowly plug headphones into attachment, and jostle them, suddenly music starts coming out through headphones. Song ends, next one starts, headphones no longer have sound coming out. Repeat plug/jostle process, headphones start working again. Rinse & repeat at every song. It's just wierd, it seems the player loses the fact that headphones are plugged in at every new song. It's gotta be a software glitch or setting of some type because it happens at every new song, immediately when a new song starts, every time! |

Humm... That is super strange!! I cannot duplicate your problem here... headphones are working flawlessly. Can someone else running this Rom confirm please? Thanks in advance!

Re: [5-01-11]Tinkerbell's 29019 Titan Rom TBN 39.92 [Verizon/Sprint/MetroPCS]
yea it sounds like a headphone problem to me or at least with the adapter better off just using the HTC USB headset which provides better sound anyway as USB is digital and standard TRS is analog. only the newer HTC TRRS headsets can produce digital sound because of the inline conversions.

Ok, it took me a while but I am now reporting back. As it turns out, regardless of adapter or connection used, when I use "standard" headphones (earbuds, headphones, or speakers over 3.5mm connection) the media player will only play a single song through them once they are "recognized" (by disconnecting reconnecting many times) through the adapter, but upon changing songs, the headphones cease to be recognized, regardless of adapter or headphone. However when I use a cell phone headset (the kind with headphone and mic) the songs continue to play as normal. I believe it has something to do with the way standard headphones connect (if you look at the male end of a 3.5mm male plug on a standard headphone it has TWO distinct black lines creating 3 areas of connection (I'm no EE but I think that's for "left", "right" and "neutral") and if you look at the 3.5mm male plug on a cell phone headset with mic it has THREE distinct black lines creating four areas of connection (again not an EE but I think that's for left, right, mic, and neutral). All this is to say, my "problem" is, I use my cell phone as a media player/ipod, and I use one of those old school cassette to 3.5mm plugs in my car to connect my cell phone to my car to play music through my cassette deck (cue grandpa jokes). With the way this thing is functioning, I cannot make the phone play through that connection. It's really weird because with the previous rom I had on my previous titan (DCD) it would work as intended, I could use standard headphones or the 3.5mm plug on my cassette adapter, and listen to music all day, but with this rom (and new phone) it doesn't work as before. I cannot imagine why the rom would act differently in this one area because I am guessing the programmers of the rom wouldn't go tweaking something as minor as how the phone responds to connections via headphone. Again long story even longer, this is a VERY particular "problem" only to me, and not worth looking into, but I just wanted to close it out as a minor "bug" (or consider it a "feature" that prevents me from fiddling with my phone while driving!) Thanks all, I am still working this ROM over, and occasionally it stalls out/locks up, but for the most part it is a champ. If I find any repeatable bugs that are actually worth working on, I will let you know. |
Re: [5-20-11]Tinkerbell's 29020 Titan Rom TBN 39.94 [Verizon/Sprint/MetroPCS]
Well, that is certnly interesting. That sounds a bit frustrating. I would b curious to see if a stock rom, or another Rom would fix the issue.

Humm... that is interesting. I am at a total loss. Thank you for the update. If any other of the developers have any suggestions about this I would love to hear from you!!

On a related note, what's the best way to backup my phone for going to tink's latest rom?
And what does the backup support? Installed programs? Texts/SMS/MMS? Installed programs and their related files (i.e. inav and its related maps, or e-sword and its related bibles) pics, docs, music, notes? |

The Tinkerbell's Verizon GPS Toolset v1.23 is now available on the first post. We fixed a few bugs, and updated the Rom. Post any issues you find here on this thread. Enjoy.

Hey ruthienu! I took the data switch in the Sprint version out, but if this is the only thing holding you back, I would consider putting up a version with the switch added back. Let me know!!

I would l love to have the switch put back as I really need it to prevent accidental charges. Thanks a million!

I tried to download the gps tools and those links don't seem to work. Sorry for being such a noob but I wanted to be sure that I don't need to flash a radio for the verizon version.I just run olipro to unlock then flash rom and then run gps tools? Also wondering if I could get the rom with the ability to turn data off. Thanks!

Re: [6-07-11]Tinkerbell's 29020 Titan Rom TBN 39.94 [Verizon/Sprint/MetroPCS]
Hi! Check your Private Messages!! To answer your questions, you don't need the GPS toolset as this is for Verizon users ONLY. Yes, you will just unlock and then flash the Tinkerbell's Sprint Rom!! (That is, if you are with Sprint as your profile suggests!) I am working on your version with the data switch.

Re: [6-07-11]Tinkerbell's 29020 Titan Rom TBN 39.94 [Verizon/Sprint/MetroPCS]
Sorry about that didn't check my private messages. My profile says Sprint but I am now going to switch to verizon with a titan so I need the verizon version. Sorry for the confusion. I really appreciate it!

Re: [6-07-11]Tinkerbell's 29020 Titan Rom TBN 39.94 [Verizon/Sprint/MetroPCS]
The phone is definitely an original verizon phone as it has verizon printed on it. So I guess I also need the gps toolset which for some reason I cannot download!
Thanks |
Re: [6-07-11]Tinkerbell's 29020 Titan Rom TBN 39.94 [Verizon/Sprint/MetroPCS]
Tinkerbell,
For now I flashed the old ROM but I did not realize you had to flash a radio first as it does not say so in your instructions. When I looked at GPS toolset it shows to flash a radio first can I flash the radio after the ROM? Any help for this noob would be appreciated! Thanks! |
