Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

So I got into clockworkmod recovery, and I tried the install through there and got the same failure message. Here's the full error message:

"assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/asphalt5_DEMO_ANMP_Samsung_D700_Sprint_ML.apk"

Maybe I uninstalled that crappy app? Could I just bring it back?

I also assume this menu allows me to do the backup you spoke of?

No, unfortunately I have no idea what busy boxy is. I can't imagine it being very difficult, though, this stuff is pretty straight forward once I get the terminology down.

You can, but you will need to push it via ADB...

Yeah, might as well as make a backup now.

When you click "Problems?" it titanium backup, it loads up a working busy box...its a toolkit of extra commands that help things like titanium make mroe reliable backups..

EDIT: Here is the stock files:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/sprint-epi...ts-thread.html

you can push them via ADB..or easier to use qtadb:

http://qtadb.wordpress.com/download/

you gotta put them in the " /system/app" folder..both the apk and the odex (if there is one)

Yeah, the backup and restore feature is pretty sweet on there for stock rooted users.

If I remember correctly, and it's been awhile, that missing app is the problem. Not 100& though.

Ok, I have the qtatb thingie installed on my phone, I put the Asphalt .apk where you told me, but I have no idea how to use qtatb. I assume I run it through my PC, but it started rambling about binaries and I got lost.

you copied both the apk and odex file(if exists) to /system/apps folder?

if its same error then maybe better off to just make clockwork backup, make titanium backup and proceed with oding/eb13 tool

Yup, no odex unfortunately. I may have found the problem. I went into the system/app (not apps, does that make a difference?) and while I hit copy, it doesn't show up in there. Could it be because I installed it first? Should I try something else, such as uninstalling it an copying it again?

Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

I uninstalled it and tried the copy again and it won't stick. Could I be doing something wrong through Q? It refuses to show up in the folder through a simple copy through Q.
