Re: UGH! Just Dropped my Phone..
It happens to some..probably dropped at a bad angle...Try going to sprint and see if they are willing to fix it...they might do it free or for 35$...if not, samsung has their warranty and from what people are saying they fix it even if it was an accident no question asked...but I can't guarantee sprint or samsung wont give you a refurbished one to replace it :/

Re: UGH! Just Dropped my Phone..
Well I talked to samsung and they said if I send it in for a cracked lcd they will charge me to fix it.. if I sent it in for the flickering screen which I can't get to happen very time its free..cept I would be phoneless for 4 to 6 days sprint told me that its 100 bucks to replace the phone..but I haven't stopped into a store yet...sucks as I don't have a phone to use while this is gone

Re: UGH! Just Dropped my Phone..
i have esrp/tep so that might change the experience i get... but i dropped my phone too and it cracked the top of the screen. they replaced the screen no questions asked in about 20 minutes.... so im sure if you take it to the store they will likely just replace your screen instead of give you a refurb....

cracked screens are free to repair if you have insurance.

Re: UGH! Just Dropped my Phone..
Little update about my trip to the sprint sotre today.. i made sure to call sprint CSR before i went and made sure they replaced screens.. she said it would be NO problem... so the store opens at 12.. get there at 11:50 and there are 6 people waiting out front.. no big deal.. so i get into the store and wait.. 20 mins and the guy 2 people ahead of me walks up with a cracked screen.. guy gets a replacement phone i wait 15 more mins and its my turn.. so i walk up set my phone down.. guy doesnt even ask for my phone number and says i need to file a claim.. i just stare at him for a second and say.. what about the guy who just got a replacement phone cause of his cracked screen.. he just hands me a card and tells me to file a claim and have a nice day as im walking out a guy 7 or 8 people behind me said.. cracked screen? i said yeap.. showed me his evo shook his head and left.. told him he had to file a claim.. we both thought it was bs.. so i called sprint and they credited me 75 bucks off of my bill and are sending me a brand new phone

Re: UGH! Just Dropped my Phone..
I had a similar issue the other day as well: my wife dropped hers for the first time from about knee-high... SNAP!!! The screen was cracked internally, but the outside glass was intact. I took it to my local store here in SoCal that morning and the guy at the door said it was probably from multiple drops and would probably have to be replaced through insurance. I mentioned how I had dropped my EVO a couple dozen times from various heights without a scratch showing up and, since he was being a total schyster, I asked him to just put my name on the list. A few minutes later another rep takes the phone in the back, talks with a tech for 30 seconds and says they'll have it fixed in about 45 minutes. And they did. I have TEP and didn't get charged a penny. I must say, I am a little disturbed by how fragile this screen seems to be, but was pleasantly surprised that they repaired it for me, as they won't do anything about an identical issue with my daughter's LG Rumor.

i think it has something to do with how the gorilla glass is made.... super scratch resistant but maybe brittle to breakage...
