Sorry to be off topic here, especially as you are no doubt aware of this, but....

There have been many problems with the LG Rumor screen, and while the model is a number of years old now, it'd probably be worth spending a bit of time on the phone with Sprint trying to convince them to cover the screen repair given the obvious faulty nature of the phone's original screen. My daughter's Rumor had screen problems a year ago, and a Sprint repair center in my neck of the woods fixed the problem in a few minutes with no charge.

YMMV, of course, but personally I think it's worth a small investment of time.
