Vibrant getting Froyo update tomorrow (Friday the 21st). Hopefully it's the start of a trend.

They need to provide a date.

Then, then need to provide a reason for the delay and state what their intentions are for future updates.

Frankly, the OPTION of updating plain Android DIRECTLY from Google needs to be offered ASAP.

Curious to know if this was released today, AND--was it worth the wait?

How is GPS, call signal strength and the other things I heard about 6+ months ago when the phone was released.

I have a feeling that no matter how long they waited, or how much care goes into these updates--serious flaws will STILL be discovered within 24 hours of it being released.

I'm just saying, that's all! Prove me wrong Samsung--please...

Good luck with that, I'm sure they don't know that answer themselves...

They did, "Sprint has felt the need to remind you that it is “working to release Froyo for the Epic,”and that this update is coming “ASAP,” but has to meet “rigorous testing criteria.”" Lame but explained, I'm sure intentions will be the same in the future as done with this upgrade

Well you better read this than:

PPCGeeks.com » Updating to Gingerbread (Android 2.3) blocked by Google?!

Cause Google doesn't want you upgrading to the latest and greatest themselves anyway, this is really a blow to my faith in Google, it's not like they have a Google branded phone on EACH of the networks to pull this crap. Who the hell has TMobile anyway, they'll be waiting a long time to sell off those phones...

It boils down to this. Samsung wants Sprint to pay a per unit fee for the upgrade to 2.2... Sprint doesn't want to pay. Until someone folds... I wouldn't hold my breath on getting this update anytime soon.

Thank God I got the Evo.... Unfortunately, my hubby has the Epic.

I can't believe this is even an issue for an Epic owner that is a member of this site. I guess for those with no computer skills whatsoever, they might be upset about no official FROYO for their Epic.
