He said at the moment Sprint hasnt given another date. So anyways I asked him why in the world is Sprint doing to it. He said another sprint employee said it was because wiimax is not 100% functioning on froyo. How true is this? I have no clue, but this leaker did give me a dk28 info before xda released. After dk28 was said not to be released but skipped to final.

From what I have seen 4g is better on DK28..BUT for some reason Sprint Hotspot and Wimax can't be used at the same time...but is it really going to take that long to fix that?!?!? :/

Yup, thats what he was saying. The whole OS and wiimax arent 100 functional with the other apps. He did ask me how my wiimax was behaving. I told him very good but sometimes it hangs. He said thats one of the issues they are working on. Froyo is done, its just a few very minor bugs and wiimax being priority. Anyways he said to pay attention to the 4g icon symbol on top. He said that if you turn 4g on and surf around, eventualy the zzz come on meaning stand by. But sometimes it wont wake up and u have to turn 4g off, then on. So lately I noticed that my epic does exactly that. Not all the time, but it does do it.

I heard Sprint will be releasing the 2.2 upgrade around two months after Verizon upgrades their Galaxy S Models to Froyo. As a former Touch Pro 2 user this sounds about right.

What ever the case, Epic runs great with eclair. Unlike the htc wm phones. We desperately need a update from 5, 6, 6.1 to finally 6.5. But sadly, all we got was about 5% more power. Htc, fail.

so i can finally upgrade as of yesterday and I want to get the epic but find myself questioning whether I should right now or wait till froyo is out for the epic. what about other future OS updates such as android 2.3? doesn't seem likely that the epic would get such an update regardless of what samsung/sprint says. I wouldn't mind it if you could put custom roms on it (from what i heard, you need a leaked samsung rom first?).

We have a leaked gingerbread for a samsung rom...the Nexus S..and as long as the Nexus S gets updated we can pull updates from it :)

I meant as a Galaxy S community...not as Epic in specific..right now though the priority is to get it running on i9000..once its stable they will probably port it to Epic in matter of days...

How true is it that wimax is not 100% functioning on Froyo alone? I would say not true at all. The EVO has had Froyo for months and wiimax working just fine. Now wiimax not working with combination of Samsung hardware and Froyo, probably.. If that is the case Samsung and Sprint need to get with it and get it done.. They figured it out on the EVO in a matter of a month, surely they should be able to figure it out on the Epic in five months.

Epic has a feature that allows 4g/wimax to idle and use up less battery life..EVO does not have this feature..that said first samsung makes the rom...gives it to sprint...then sprint loads up its bloatware and whines back to samsung if something doesn't work >.>
