phone is stock but rooted. So whatever touchwiz version was installed is the one that I'm using. Also isn't the method I stated above to tether the one your telling me. Oh yeah I have glass theme by 454supernova installed that might make a difference
If your using 2.1...then your best bet is to use PDAnet..it doesn't even require root..stock usb tethering is for when your using 2.2..

Ill try PDAnet. Read that the free version has limited HTTPS pages though so will see how that works.

I had forgot that i had to change usb from pda to modem in the phone settings.

So much for a January released of 2.2.

Quick heads up never put your phone to charge overnight while you place it under your pillows. Went to sleep at midnight at around 4am i check my phone to see what time it was so i reached under my pillows and the phone was extremely hot never felt a phone get the hot. Took the cable off and turned it off and then threw it on the floor went back to sleep woke up again and the phone had cooled off everything works fine. Almost thought for a second that it was going to burst. Just a heads up.

If it gets too hot these new phones should shut themselves off..that said..I really don't suggest putting a phone thats charging under your pillow..hot or not...or anything thats plugged into a live circuit..

The gun is in my closet right next to me got a little one so can put it under my pillow. normally the phone is on the side table but this time i have no idea y i put it there just did but wont happen again.

I meant an H&K .45 ACP HK45 with a high capacity 10 round magazine loaded with 230 grain Hydra-Shok hollow points and a laser sight mounted on the integral polymer rail system.....under your pillow I understand.

I still don't get how the phone got there......
