Hey everyone, I am about to update the section of the wiki that talks about the gps problems, but before I do that I need some feedback as to whether or not the latest update -DI18- has completely resolved the problem.

Bueller.....anyone?
DI18 had no effect on the GPS.

Correct, the GPS is as unreliable as ever. Left me stranded last weekend. I was at the Texas State Fair, I marked my location when I parked my car (GPS was working). About 10 hours later, I was outside, clear sky, 9 sat's in view, no lock, I don't even know how that's possible, Samsung must have had to work at f'ing the GPS up so bad.

Back to the point, there were no changes made in DI18 that would have any effect (pro or con) on the GPS. So anyone that says that it made a difference is experiencing a placebo effect.

Re: so far epic gps sucks.

OK, I'm glad I asked. I personally have never had a problem with my GPS, but I know many others have. So I guess I'll leave the wiki alone. I hope Froyo comes out soon, maybe that will fix it.

I get to be confused as to what is a gps issue and which are app issues. Sometimes one app works but another doesn't for me.

Re: so far epic gps sucks.

I personally haven't noticet any issues since the update. I have not been using very heavily but I did have issues prior to the update and none since.

I mostly drive around the city though so that might matter.

I haven't noticed any issues using GPS at all. I use it fairly heavily when I'm in the field at work and really no issue finding my location or being spot on with navigation. I never restart my phone to use it either. I generally leave it and location settings disabled until I ned them, then enable just before using...no issues.

I hope things get fixed for you all, but I for another have good gps.

Re: so far epic gps sucks.

it just seems like the gps issue is across a wide spectrum. my friend brought his verizon fascinate over the other day and the gps was horrible. it's this that keeps me from biting the bullet and getting the epic 4g, even though i really want one.

Re: so far epic gps sucks.

If you get an Epic and the GPS sux, can you swap for another within your 30 day window? I am too, on the fence, about getting an Epic- But everytime I head to Sprint and play with it-Man I like it!

Re: so far epic gps sucks.

So still no fix with the gps on the epic? I have had customers come in the store and ask and I have been trying to do research to see if this has been fixed. I won't sell a phone without letting them know the problems as well so they get the right phone for them, especially considering most people use their phone gps on sprint.

strickly- you probably won't be able to swap it out within the 30 days for another epic if it's a problem with all of them, but depending where you get it from you'd most likely be able to switch it for a completely different device in that 30 days as long as it's in perfect condition and you have everything with it including the box.
