Today I actually came across this information:

Quote:
Verizon and Sprint did not announce dates or pricing. A Samsung representative said all four companies would have phones by late July or early August. AT&T, Verizon and Sprint all said Samsung had not yet told them when they would be allowed to start selling their phones.

So hope it is true

Re: Sprint Epic 4G

I called Sprint yesterday and asked when the Epic would be released. The initial answer I got was "July 11th". Then he put me on hold to "ask a supervisor" and when he came back he said "soon" and "later this month". Sprint is going to call me when the Epic is available for purchase. You can also register your email address with Sprint to be notified when its out.

My guess is that when they said Samsung they thought all samsung phones are the same and figured it was an Intercept....

Either way we would always know at least a week or 2 in advanced before it came out just from sprint taking pre-orders...

Re: Sprint Epic 4G

damn. i feel sorry for the people who bought the Evo. To me it feels like its just a ms7200 cpu overclocked to 1ghz. Why? It lags when you do anything. Thers a slight lag to it. I seen it on most videos too. Weird. But yes... I am sooo happy I didnt get Evo. Anothing thing.. has anyone notice how the other non htc phones running Android run alot fater in the 3d department? I came across several articles pointing out how a slower power vr gxs cpu that power the google phones actually run faster and handle 3d alot better.

Wirelessly posted (Sprint HTC Evo : Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; SPH-M900 Build/ECLAIR) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)

my evo only had a lag after I installed swype and while using it at times cuz it would sorta lock up. video quality was garbage and lack of physical keyboard was the ultimate reason I returned it. I'm highhhhhhhly anticipating the epic
