Sprint may not be the best advertiser..but Verizon, AT&T and T-mobile are gonna get a Galaxy S too..I'm sure T-mobile will advertise theirs but they are probably the worst with advertising...as for Verizon and AT&T they may be too focused on the Droid and iPhone advertising...

But by advertising I mean samsung should cough up some dough and make an advertising campaign to get ppl interested in the series...I mean the TP2 went to every carrier too and got no advertisement whatsoever..so samsung has to take the first step...

or if the carriers don't advertise it..give each carrier a million if they spend 3 million on advertising or something like that...aka this is the opportunity to focus less on profit and more on brand recognition for cellphones in the states..

Re: Sprint Epic 4G

I think it would be hard for Samsung to lead the advertising charge. Having four slightly different phones with very different names on different networks is too much to make compelling in a 15 second spot.

Yeah you do have a point. But some people heard about the TP2 from other carriers (esp. sprint customers). Maybe the same thing could happen. In the meantime, I'm still very impatient to hear a date of release:-/

Samsungs are alright, not my top favorite either like some of you guys, but I'm guessing by this time next year we're probably gonna have 2ghz phones anyways so I'll wait for the next HTC big drop... Hopefully it's an EVO 2 with a slide out keyboard lol...

Why not just wait for the 3ghz phones? Either way, the hummingbird is on par with the 1.5ghz snapdragons...so this phone won't be out of date for at least a year..just like any phone...2ghz speed means nothing as right now the phones are being limited by their GPU, not CPU...we do not do any CPU intensive tasks on our phone yet..but the GPU has been terrible..and most of the CPU load was due to missing GPU drivers/acceleration support....

You will of course benefit if they give you 1gb ram for example...but you will not see a difference when you use the phone...I mean what plays solitaire faster, a 1ghz pc or 2ghz pc?

And even if they get up to 2ghz, will the battery life be more taxing and etc...

I wouldn't exactly call myself a samsung fan, but this device outclasses everything out now by 2x fold...this is the biggest jump since TP2 to the Nexus in terms of performance...

Definitely! SDX-Developers is IMHO as good as XDA Is much better organized (they don't have threads with 40 gazillion messages, etc) and they do great stuff for Samsung phones

I'd say that is an overstatement, as there are many areas of the phone which are pretty standard (such as the camera). However, the Galaxy series most definitely crushes other phones when it comes to 3D graphical prowess. Check out this video of Quake 2 on the Desire and Galaxy S.

Well I mean overall 2x..not in every spec, but most of the important specs like screen, energy, processing power and other features like bluetooth 3., DLNA, all the sensors etc..and its not only 3d but 2d as well...

More megapixels doesn't mean better camera, Epic has better sensor than the Evo which means we will be able to achieve better pictures.

I didn't say otherwise. I just think it is hyperbolic to say that the Epic "outclasses everything two fold". Spec wise it is the best in some areas, and competitive in the rest.
