Sorry guys I should have been doing this first since last night but since I had a job interview this morning I couldn't lose any sleep over this... now that I'm back... seriously what made me stop for minute is when you said that your clockwork backup is non usable now so how and what method, if any, you use for restoring your data? Will check back later on this... I gotta make a few runs.

Re: midNIGHT ROM DK28 (Froyo) v2.2 EXT4 12/29/2010

well? so the new recovery mod wont let you restore or what? do I have to use MyBackUp Pro or any success stories regarding restoration of data after flashing EXT4?

edit: most recent back up with MyBackUp Pro was about 2 days ago... since then I have 3 installed 3 newer apps.. makes a total of 213 3rd party apps altogether. But nandroid does a better job at restoring apps and system data. Any success with that... on EXT4, anyone?

If yes, then I'll go ahead and do it...
If no, then I what backup/restore method can you suggest before flashing?

im putting this out there if anybody needs help using the adb method its really easy and there is a w7 pc issue that people are having but its simply a usb port issue like some had rooting. just remember that the epic is almost not brickable with odin to save your ass. i will help anybody on a chat client if you need it and reason im pushing this is you gota try this ext4 with op's rom, i have not had a single issue and phone reboots so fast you wont believe it. i used almost every app on my phone with 0 issues so please pm me if you wanna try this baby.

The reason you can't restore data from an old recovery backup is because eveything is in a different location and format now.

Now you should be in the new recovery. Plug the phone in via USB and run the Install bat from your computer. When it finishes flash the kernel and the reflash quantum 2.5. Then reboot. Once booted download quickboot and then boot into recovery (make sure you are in the new recovery ends in a 2) then wipe data/cache and dalvik x3. Flash midNIGHT v2.2 EXT4 and wipe the caches when down but not data. That should be all you need to do.
Okay to many different instructions and my head is spinning...Are these the latest instructions to getting v2.2 ext4 installed?

So far files I have Odin, D118 stock, DK28 modem (not extended ?), then 1click root clockwork, quantum 2.5 Rom. What is the kernel mentioned that you have to flash? Also where do you download quickboot (Market?), and why isn't ext4 procedure mentioned here, is it because quantum 2.5 rom has it already? Any help is appreciated.
