Depends which one you're using. Mine's a comprehensive guide on everything networking. It has a CompTIA section... I used it to get an exchange, ftp, and vbulletin server setup.

This kind of thing is usually a routing or firewall issue. Either the connection goes down or some device thinks the connection has timed out so it closes it.

I am now on my computer, not a shared one but it appears to be working just fine. (the logging out part of the home page)

As of now we were going to leave it at DreamHost. All of these webhosts do nightly backups. The new server is in a data center somewhere, so its not local anyway.

I think that's referring to a company. I couldn't imagine a company storing files offsite unless it was just as a backup.

More than likely its a problem with that host. Depending on the size of the hard drive we have on this server (I can't remember), we might look into moving it to this server.

Thats what I was talking about, a routing appliance at the host messing up. I suppose the drive could be full too.

Whatever the problem with the host was - it's working right now. I'm able to download, and another user was able to upload his latest ROM, which he was unable to do earlier today.

Thanks for hte update, just let us know if it stops working again.

Since we were down for so long, it might have just been overloaded with people trying to use it.
