Great to see everything up again!

Mike and Frosty, your work is appreciated... as a hosting provider myself I know what you went through. A dedicated box is definitely the way to go with the amount of traffic this site gets... and fwiw I don't think it's out of line to ask for donations to offset the cost... I will be sending mine...

I had this issues yesterday but it self-corrected for me. I noticed that the list of users on-line is no longer listed alphabetically at the bottom of the page.

yea this is happening. click the home button and you will see it thinks your logged out, but I click back on forum and Im logged in. hmm

Try it now, I just changed a setting for cookies.

If i may...

This has to do with the fact cookies stored on the client-side are referenced to a specific domain or realm, ie, "www.ppcgeeks.com". Since you folks were redirecting everyone to an IP address, the browser had no way to match up the current client-side cookies with what was now being displayed in the address bar. Taking away the redirect and just allowing everyone to goto www.ppcgeeks.com eliminates the problem, hence why most folks are now suddenly working.

I changed this while we were on the last server. Having the database sort it into alphabetical order increases the load on the server. We can change it back if Mike wants to.

ppcgeeks.com points to the portal and forum.ppcgeeks.com points to the forums. In vB the default option for cookies is to use the URL you access the site with. So if you get here using forum.ppcgeeks.com, that's how the cookie will be saved.

I just changed it to save cookies as .ppcgeeks.com, so now it shouldn't matter what URL you use to access the site, but you might still have to clear your cookies for this to correct itself.

That's a much better way of doing it, glad you were able to sort it out.

Migrations are never painless... but once you work everything out, at least you can rest... for a while.
