This kind of thing is usually a routing or firewall issue. Either the connection goes down or some device thinks the connection has timed out so it closes it.

I am now on my computer, not a shared one but it appears to be working just fine. (the logging out part of the home page)

Thats what I was talking about, a routing appliance at the host messing up. I suppose the drive could be full too.
