Re: Should I switch to Verison for the O2? Dead horse I know.
I had sprint and a touch pro, now have the omnia....the reception is much better in my area, and I LOVE the phone...ya it has some stupid things, like when it's fully charged it beeps, but I was able to turn that off...really don't miss the vga resolution...I could only tell the omnia had less resolution when I had the two phones next to each other...don't miss the hardware keyboard either...typing on screen is pretty easy....and battery life!! Holy crap this phone is great, I was lucky to have 10% life left on the pro by the end of the day barely using it...the omnia, using it quite a bit still has 85% life left at the end of the day...and the camera is also MUCH better...if you can't tell, I'm very happy I made the switch, can't wait for the omnia 2..although it is going to be a HUGE phone, bigger than an iphone I think.

Verizon has the same free phone swapping the Sprint does. If you get assurion insurance and extended warranty. Then replacements are free minus you destroying the phone.

How much is the extended warranty? I calculated it out, and if you have a 2 year plan and your phone craps out after the first, with the 50 dollar deductible and what you've spent (5$/mo) it ends up coming out to somewhere around 150 bucks. Usually you can get a decent used phone on ebay (how I ended up with the omnia) instead of just a refurb of the same phone. *shrugs* |

Re: Should I switch to Verison for the O2? Dead horse I know.
I have both VZW for my Omnia and Sprint for a regular phone, which I'm going to upgrading to the Diamond in the near future. The best part of VZW is the phone prices, much better than sprint. As far as the insurance through VZW, when I've paid the deductible for a damaged phone, I get an entirely new phone, battery, etc brand new in box, rather than having to buy one on E-bay and hope it's decent. Cust service is much better w/ Sprint and you can add TEP insurance to even a used phone w/ Sprint, can't do that with Verizon, not to mention sprint's phone/data prices for family share plans are much better than VZW. However...Sprint doesn't have the Omnia which IMO is the best PPC on the market right now.

Re: Should I switch to Verison for the O2? Dead horse I know.
Never switch carriers for the phone they offer. There will always be new phones coming out. If you want more minutes for your money, there are much better deals than VZW. But if you want the most reliable service and coverage area, that's a good reason to switch. We just returned from a long road trip, and there was many places where I had signal (bars), and my wife's iPhone had none. So much for ATT's "More bars in more places". I don't know about Sprint, but if it works where you live, the right phone will come soon enough.

Re: Should I switch to Verison for the O2? Dead horse I know.
Get the Omnia II, go with Verizon, even though they are bast***s, they have the best coverage. ATT may be getting sued for thier lack of coverage and the cluster f*** with MMS and the iPhone. Sprint's coverage is even worse than ATT, but they are cheaper, much cheaper. If you don't use your phone as your main means of communication, go with another carrier. I'll stick with Verizon, been with them for 4 years and haven't seen 'no service' pop up in the banner in 2 years.
