need help updating to the offical rom

Im trying to update my omnia with the newly released official rom. i download it but it doesnt let me do the update. it says to instal wmdc(windows mobile device center). i already have wmdc 6.1 installed on my vista 64bit

you will need to use udml and the rom

download all 5 files and extract to a folder.
use udml and select unified img. hit detect,
make sure the phone is already off and plugged in, then turn on. it should detect and update

Just wanted to chime in here and make sure that the UDML you recommended was for 64bit Vista. Early on they only had one for 32bit Vista.

yes it works on vista 64. i been using it on that OS. make sure its 2.3

No, he meant UMDL 2.3.

Oh, sorry. I misunderstood your question.

The UDML version number is 2.3

Windows Mobile Device Center is a download that you need to get from Microsoft in order for your phone to talk to Vista

Actually I think he was referring to the version of UMDL, not WMDC.

I used the WMDC from the disc shipped with the phone, used the UMDL from Modaco, and used the .img file from here, on Vista 64 and it worked without a hitch.
