Follow the links in this post. They will get you to both UDML and the file you'll need to flash only to the official ROM

Running it in XP SP2 compatibility mode should work, too.

But I too would feel better using UMDL.

Got it to work with vista 32-bit. Make sure your "allow USB connection" is not checked or else your ?Upgrade tool will crash!!

I found out why the update tool doesn't work with my computer. It turns out that the tool update only workd on vista with 32bit. That is the stupidest thing verizon and samsung has come up with. Who now a days has basic windows. Well my bro does, and that computer is so slow and bad that when I try to run the tool update, the computer crashes on the second step!

Then instead of the Verizon tool to upgrade, you'll need to use the UDML utility that we all used for the last few months before the Verizon tool came out. This is the only way that will be compatable with ALL bit versions of XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

Oh rue the scoundrels! Such are the problems when trying to run a bleeding edge OS. I would venture to say that XP and Vista32 outnumber Vista64.

I've still got a working IBM PCjr. Switchable between Basic and XT. Running out of 5 1/4" floppies, though.

Edit: Oh yeah . . . did you mean Visual Basic?

I meant Vista home basic or vista basic.. now most computer comw with vista64 or 86!!

What is showing in the Version info after the upgrade for the Modem Version?

I am seeing S:910.10 V.CC26 for the Modem

The ROM Version shows S:i910.10 V.CF03 and then some other info for the cooked version.

Finally got it to work, and it took me a awhile to understand why my bros comp kept crashing. but the gps doesnt work or is too slow. and I have the same version as you in everthing...
