Re: Problem updating
Working through the UMDL and following all the instructions the Downloading Log displays this...
usbDev open Faile usbDev open Faile usbDev open Faile usbDev open Faile usbDev open Faile PDA Device not found. The Downloading Progress is still "Waiting for the device...". For whatever reason I'm guessing my computer doesn't detect my phone, may be the same problem the Upgrade Tool was having. Edit: Uninstalled Active Sync and reinstalled it, UMDL is working now! Is the .IMG through the UMDL the same as the Upgrade Tool provided by Samsung and VZW. I noticed a few other files in Yardi's link, and reading through the thread that it was posted in, they were for the GPS? Last edited by u441105; 07-18-2009 at 06:25 PM. |

Re: Problem updating
I upgraded my Omnia yesterday with the official upgrade tool. At the end of the upgrade during the Omnia restart it froze on the splash screen. Had to remove the battery to turn off. Froze on the splash screen each time. Several attempts were made to boot it up but nothing worked and the active sync would no longer recognize the phone. I took it to the VZW store tech and he did not have a clue how to fix it but ordered another phone. After thinking about it for a few hours, I downloaded the Doctors UDML and CC20 upgrade, connected the phone to the UDML, it recognized it, and flashed with the unofficial ROM. I then established another active sync connection with the newly flashed phone, connected the VZW upgrade tool, it recognized it and upgraded with the VZW official upgrade. Everything worked perfectly, including the GPS. Running SPB 3. GReat phone. If you think you have a bricked phone and it least gets power without booting up, USE UDML.

Re: Problem updating
It is very important that you have the samsung modem drivers installed to you computer for the UMDL to work. Check out
http://theidoctor.org/omnia.html for the drivers and complete instructions. |

Re: Problem updating
I get the same errors using UMDL but it shows rvalue null... Might just be a Win7 thing.
However I've been able to flash successfully before which is weird. |
