Re: Lost ringtones...

Xpos, where exactly is the root directory??? Are you saying just dump them into "storage card" and not into a specfic folder?

You got it. No folders. They will appear in a big group after the folders in your File Explorer.

Re: Lost ringtones...

Thank you, I will try this and see how it works. Will I be able to see all ringtones from the MS shortcut to edit a contact's ringtone?

Re: Lost ringtones...

Xpos I tried just dumping them into the root directory and can't seem to get them there. How do you go about doing it... through active sync on the computer, copy and paste in file manager, etc? When I tried on Vista it wasn't working, maybe I'll try on my XP machine later.

On your phone set USB Connections to Mass Storage (not ActiveSync). Connect the USB cable and you will be able to access the phone as a disk drive.

Copy and paste or drag and drop your ringtones into My Storage Card.

If you have your ringtones in a separate directory (just ringtones) you can select all with Edit drop down (or Control + A) then right click in Storage Card and select Paste. Otherwise one by one.

Thanks for the info! I just received my replacement Omnia today and couldn't get my custom ringtones to show up in the incoming call list. Worked fine on the old one, but I could'nt figure out why it didn't on the new one. I knew this had to happen to someone besides me, and this site was the first place I looked. You guys ROCK!

Re: Lost ringtones...

I have a question about ringtones:
If I want to assign my SMS alert tone s specific music tone, where would I put the song at/which folder? Is it somewhere in the "windows" folder?
