Lost ringtones...
I've been playing around w/ the leaked ROM, have MS3 also, and now seem to have lost all my ringtones... I've donwloaded some from the site here and the only way any work is loaded into the ringtones folder on the phone itself, not my storage of my memory card. Is this right? Forgive me for my ignorance, I'm pre-newb at this point... any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Lost ringtones...
I don't see why they wouldn't work on your storage or mem card. I've never had that problem but I haven't dl'ed any 'tones since flashing to Adryn's 2.7.

Re: Lost ringtones...
That is correct. I had the same problem. After the flash, anything that's not in your storage or card will be erased. Next time, just move all of those ringtones to another folder and after the flash put them back.

Re: Lost ringtones...
Fishingmedic,
When you upgraded to MS3-is that when you lost them? When I upgraded from MS2 to MS3 is when I lost mine. If I open up the contact through the normal edit, I have all the ringtones, but if I try to edit the contact through the shortcut, no ringtones show up. I don't know why only some came over through the short cuts and none are in my ringtone folder now. Maybe they were in use when I upgraded. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate them. |
Re: Lost ringtones...
Ahiuggins, I'm not sure when as my phone is typically on vibrate, but I noticed yesterday none of the ring tones were there and I can't get the phone to recognize any ring tones unless they are in my device, not my storage or my card, and it looks like they're eating up memory (ringtones I've added from here and other sites are all I appear to have). Does anyone know why none will work unless in my device and if there's any way to have the phone "see" them if in my storage or the storage card? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Lost ringtones...
No, it's an issue with the phone itself. The ringtones must be in device memory in that ringtones folder. It only looks for ringtones in that specific folder because you can have so much much different music and sounds that it would just be wiser looking at the one folder than opening every folder and finding all that extra stuff. Since you flashed the leaked rom, why not flash to a cooked rom and have about 2-4 times more space in your device?

Re: Lost ringtones...
I'm going to be flashing to a cooked one shortly, just need to find the time!!! Wife's already threatening to toss the phone out the window as it is!!! I use the phone w/ office and a couple of the other items that Adryn removed so I'm not sure how to go about getting them back on, I'll check out the other cooked ROM's too. Is it possible to just get a CAB w/ certain items to get back on?

Re: Lost ringtones...
Shokka's Repo was the site for that.. I guess the site is down now.. You're either going to have to look for them or ask someone to make a cab. Adryn is usually nice about making a cab, but I'm not saying he will. That's up to him:silent:. There's many cab's floting around this forum, just flick on the files link under "rating."

Re: Lost ringtones...
Try putting your ringtones in the root directory of your storage card. All apps should then see them. I use mp3s and can set just about any notification or caller ID to use them.
