Am I the only one who thinks Opera sucks?

So I tried using Omnia few times so far on my Omnia and I have all but given up on it. When it loads the VZW home page is comes out huge on the screen (unreadable). I have found most websites no faster (if not slower) than IE. Am I missing something here? I tried Opera out on my XV6900 and ended up deleting the install after three days for some of the same reasons. Some input would be appreciated so I can figure out if maybe I have some setting wrong or maybe it just isn't that good of a web browser.

Opera works just fine on my Omnia. It is fast and pages show nicely.

I have no need to use PIE.

The VZW page is not compatible with Opera.

Opera Mobile was designed to view REGULAR wab pages on the mobile screen. When going to regular (Not encoded for mobile) pages it's great. But for pages that are designed for mobile devices.....IE can sometimes be better.

For casual browsing.....Opera wins out

Opera is a great webbrowser, I use it with flash3.1 and it's capable showing everything unlike a standard WM or OSX device can ..

That specific omnia opera browser is made for the Omnia .. so I don't know what you're doing wrong

Maybe my issue has been viewing mobile websites as opposed to the full ones. I'll play around with it some more and give it another try. Maybe it's just me and my "used to using IE" mentality. Thanks for the input.

I agree, Opera is GREAT at what it is designed for, and PIE for what IT is designed for. It is the age-old iPhone/Blackberry/WMPPC argument....there is not 'better' device, each is made for a purpose, and each fill that purpose!!

P.S. Adrynalyne....what would you expect out of a provider that unleashed an app that cripples features and caused numerous bugs on a device? I don't use any VZW app or web-page on my device!!

Just saying....a 6 year old could have put that page together and had it work....its like four icons.

i love opera.
it actually has a "hidden" scroll feature, if you run your thumb down (or up) the arrows appear. and you can scroll in or out.
iphone boys are jealous of that!

I actually find Opera to be pretty cool because you can go into settings and change some aspects of it that aren't available with PIE. I'm not sure if it is any faster than PIE, but it seems a bit snappier overall!! The scrolling finction is cool, and on some pages the Omnia's zoom feature really enhances the web experience!!!
