Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks
Ok, i just had a GAY moment here.
So, i got a link for a Program that will allow you to see and change the settings for the Windows GPS Intermediate Drivers. So, after having the CC20 update, i ran this and Change the Settings to Port 8 for Program, None for Hardware, and 57600 for BAUD from its 300. and BOOM, it work PERFECTLY with Google Maps AND Live Search. Live Search just grabbed it right away and used it when i changed the setting into it to use GPS Intermediate Drivers. It was like BOOM and it works. So i recommend doing that and the GPS will work fine. Yes, i only got between 3-5 Satellites here where my Bluetooth Adaptor would get my 8, but still, the fact i don't have to haul that around makes me happier. Now when i am stuck in a City and don't know which way to go, this will SOOOOO help. http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=23385 for the Program http://www.modaco.com/content/smartphone-standard-news/263776/finally-the-microsoft-utility-for-configuring-gpsid-on-smartphone/ and the Page it comes from |

Well, you can delete the driver and your old one will be there still. You might have to rename it first and then do a soft reset.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks
Hello everyone,
Nice Omnia thread! I'm a long time winmo user but for the love of God I haven't found a way of removing the damn ALS (Line 1) icon and battery icons from the top menu. I already selected the show clock on all programs option but the battery icon still shows up on the Today screen. Any ideas? On the ALS icon, I really find it useless if you have only one line on your SIM. It's a waste of space and worst thing, the icon looks like a call in progress icon! I already searched the forums with no avail. Thanks! RayanMX

When I had the 1% .dll on my phone, it shows the same exclamation point, showed charging, even though it was showing no % bar at all and was not plugged in. Sounded so promising. Wish it had worked. |

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks
Hi, I'm maja from romania and this is my first post
I hope you will help -someone ask: how to do see the battery? -go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell -change the two values: ShowTitleBarClock and TBOpt -cases: 1.ShowTitleBarClock=1 si TBOpt=0....does not show anything 2.ShowTitleBarClock=0 si TBOpt=1....show only the battery 3.ShowTitleBarClock=1 si TBOpt=1....show only the time 4.ShowTitleBarClock=1 si TBOpt=2....show only the date 5.ShowTitleBarClock=1 si TBOpt=3....show only the date and time -if you do not have the two values: ShowTitleBarClock and TBOpt, you can create: -click edit/new dword value...value name=ShowTitleBarClock and value data=0 or 1 -click edit/new string value...value name=TBOpt and value data=0 or 1 or 2 or 3 Last edited by maja_ro; 06-04-2009 at 02:07 PM. |

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks
Hi Guys:
Does anyone know of a finger friendly keyboard for the Omnia?, the samsung keyboard's keys are too small and I keep unintentionally pushing buttons I don't want. Any ideas? |

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks
WOW...do you have choices there!!!!
The two tops paid keyboards would have to be SPB (has a full screen mode) and RESCO (I used to use that one, pretty good on the Omnia)!! http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/keyboard http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/keyboard/ There are a couple good free ones as well, PocketCM and Finger Keyboard (I currently use Finger Keyboeard, it is pretty finger friendly, skinnable, and has some cool features)! http://www.pocketcm.com/keyboard2.php Finger Keyboard at both of these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487677 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...inger+keyboard There is a new version of Touchpal that I have heard good things about, but haven't used: http://www.cootek.com/ I have used all of these (except the new version of Touchpal), and they are all good, but for the finger friendly reason, I would direct you to RESCO or SPB. RESCO is very good in portrait, but SPB has the full-screen mode that really can't be beat in the pure finger friendly sense. I like Finger Keyboard, but it is a bit smaller than the two pay apps, but it is great in landscape, many skins and full support at both XDA and here, so you may want to give this a shot. |
